Lol at her reading the rules, rules say you can’t touch the line at all, video shows him touching the line, stewards clear him seconds later.
saw something that says DotD now gets fantasy F1 points? So since it's a poll people are just voting for their guys I don't play fantasy F1 so not sure, but that tracks to me
Very normal, a lot of incidents will even be let go entirely at “lap 1 turn 1” having that many cars together at the same time is almost bound to cause some sort of incident. Max gaining an advantage is why they had to give a penalty. He’s gotten several at turn 1 over the years.
RB should have just relinquished the position during the safety car — it was obvious to everyone. They seemed to have the pace to keep up.
The red bull was very quick again this weekend and with poles two of the last 3 weeks hopefully we can stop pretending it's a bad car. It's clearly set up in a way that without a lot of practice only Max can drive it, but I think Yuki will keep improving in it. It's definitely the second best car on the balance. McLaren Red Bull Mercedes Ferrari The Merc is a faster qualifying car and the Ferrari probably has slightly better race pace, but with track position being king with the dirty air I have the Merc slightly above it.
Seems like team (Merc) are setting up purely for quali, trying to get George & Kimi as close to the front row as possible — banking on the inability to pass in these tanks. For the most part, it’s worked, as there’s not much between the cars — apart from the clean air delta
I think that's why you've seen Ferrari start trying to run very long on the first stint to use a significant tire delta to pass them. It worked yesterday and would have worked in Bahrain if not for the safety car.
I really fucking love Oscar - Unwilling to give an inch. Interested to see how McLaren fuck over both he & Lando through the course of the season… allowing Max to “steal” the drivers title
Depends on if McLaren is still fastest after the TD change Max is in a very good position to win the title this year
Seems like I've heard something about wing regs changing after Spain or after an upcoming GP. Is this typical for changing regulations? Who will it hinder the most if whatever it is actually matters?
F1 testing of the wings will change and be more stringent, so the thought is that McLaren and possibly Mercedes will need to change their wings or they'll fail the new tests, but I don't think it's known for sure if they'll change
Red Bull thinks it'll hurt mclaren and others and make the red bull capable of keeping up with them (spoiler: they already can). I believe McLaren already said they'd be fine with the new one though. There's nothing concrete about who is using wings that'll be affected by it though.
They announced it before the season started to give teams time to change. Theoretically it will hinder the top 4 in the below order McLaren the most Merc Ferrari Red Bull that is based on current wing flexing etc... I wouldn't say its typical but it does happen occasionally. TD39 that adjusted the floors in 2022 is known for taking the Ferrari from even footing with Red Bull to a step behind and Max never looked back.
