Agree. I only commented bc it seems like everyone is picking the Sox, itt and in the media. I think it's more of a coinflip between the Yankees, O's, and Sox. I wouldn't be shocked if the Sox win it but seeing them picked by everyone seems weird to me.
Boston seems healthier than the other two currently, which probably plays into people picking them currently. Baltimore's rotation is a mess with injuries and NYY and already has Cole out with TJ and two more down with arm injuries.
Also think there's an inherent boost people give a team like Boston for signing a big name like Bregman late. I think there's a decent chance Boston, NYY and Baltimore are the three best teams in the AL in the end. The other two divisions are just that bad. The only team that really comes close to them from a talent standpoint is Texas but that rotation is basically lottery ticket.
If the Rangers lineup stays healthy unlike last year, that offense could paper over some injuries/inconsistency from the staff. I think they have like 8 guys that have hit 20+ homers in a season
Yea the Yankees SP is a mess right now. Obviously there's no replacing Cole but Fried is pretty damn good. Losing Gil for a while, if not all season, and Schmidt already too just made it way worse. Stroman, Warren, and Carrasco doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.
Doesn’t our owner help fund your insanely talented basketball team that dump could coach to a final 4 I hate you and hate me
I was pretty confident in playoff baseball at a little league stadium this year but the Cole injury has me second guessing
Part of it is I'm just not super high on Bregman. If it was 2018/2019 Bregman, sure. But he hasn't been that guy in a while. He's a solid player, sure, just not the superstar type guy. He's not in the Jram, Devers, Riley tier at 3b for me. Astros may have upgraded at 3b tbh. Obviously I'd take him over that the Yankees will roll out at 3b.
Buddy, people are picking the M’s to make the playoffs. Which, needless to say, I don’t think you need to put much merit in any of this
What a dumpster fire that deal turned out to be, and they're still good enough to make a run this year.
just a brutal (but reasonable and fair) timeline of a fan watching a young prospect go from potential franchise cornerstone to bust within a few years.
I don’t think they should be allowed to call it the boomstick burrito until it’s wrapped in a blueberry pancake, deep fried and served in a commemorative tote filled with vegetarian chili
maybe next year their parents can love them a little more to give them that push across the finish line

would be cool if there was a game at 1:00 but I guess all the teams want to have time to get their festivities in prior to first pitch and not make it too tough on the fans trying to get there on time.
Seems like there used to be games starting at 10 am here, with another one starting like every hour after all day, in the past
ya, I think it is more about the tradition of opening day than TV since it is mostly regional anyway.
