I feel bad for Yankee fans who have to listen to their terrible 2 strike and strikeout sound cues at the stadium
Baseball America #3 and #8 prospects going into the season facing off on the mound in Colorado tonight. Could be a fun little match up Good thing all 100 fans in attendance showed up to watch
Even though they’ve sucked haven’t he Rockies always drawn pretty well? Like top 1/2 the league numbers? It’s such a nice park and downtown.
Right side of CWS infield not be weird Challenge Level: Impossible. Pretty nice play to make after taking a bat to the shin.
Royals and White Sox had the lead off man reach in 11 straight half innings. One more would’ve set an MLB record it’s 2-0 Royals in the 7th
Well, both top 10 pitching prospects looking terrible tonight. But Javier Baez doing the thread proud with another 2 hits and 4 rbi in his first two ab. Average up to .323
I didn't realize the Mariners had two Luis Castillo's and was very confused by this trade last night for quite a while
Don Kelly played 9 seasons in the majors and never had an OPS+ higher than 82. Impressive. In only 3 of those 9 seasons did he generate positive bWAR.
Poor Freeland being left out for dead by Rockies today. They used up their BP yesterday and have a double header today. 3 innings in, he's given up 11 hits, 1 bb, 9 runs and his team has committed 3 errors behind him. He'll probably go out there another few innings too
In a way I feel sorry for the players on the Rockies and White Sox because it is so clear that it is not just players on the field losing games. It's ownership/management losing. If the players on either franchise were deployed and provided the tools and information that is available to well run organizations they'd win more games.
The White Sox put an infielder in at reliever down 9-0 to the Royals. He threw pitches between 47-53 mph. He went three up, three down, giving up one run on a sac fly.
He's also 5-55 hitting with a .226 ops and -1 war. His pitching performance likely going to increase his war this season
Your Royals have won 9 of 10 and 15 of 17 despite generally only showing a passing interest in scoring runs
If our young power leftys and old crafty righties keep pitching into and past the 7th this team will win quite a few games.
This Devers stuff in Boston seems like a good time considering he's got 8 more years left on that deal. I get his point but the headline of refusing to play first base is never going to end well for him.
He's never played first base before in his life. I can understand why he would feel like being asked to learn it in the middle of the season is setting him up to fail. Doesn't mean I agree with his decision, but the whole situation there has been really poorly handled by everyone involved.
I'm not even speaking to whether or not it would be difficult, refusing to even try it for the good of the team is wild. And not sure why he would be worried about failing, he has 8 more seasons and $255 million more guaranteed on his contract after this year.
