Was waiting for someone else whose team has a first round pick to start this but I guess I'll get the ball rolling. Lottery isn't for a couple weeks yet on May 12. Should be a good time.
Even though he looked good in the tournament, I'm having a lot of trouble believing someone named Kon Knipple is someone that can succeed in the NBA.
That seems absolutely crazy for someone at his level of athleticism. People I'm currently interested in for OKC at 15: Carter Bryant, Collin Murray-Boyles, Yaxel Lendeborg
He explained it by saying the ranking is that high based on his efficiency in the EYBL in 22 and 23. Said his Duke numbers are more in line with back end of the top 10. And please don't promise Lendeborg in round 1. That would make me sad even if I know there is only like a 10% chance he makes it to campus at Michigan next year.
Was surprised to see that Karaban is heading back to UConn. Was a fringe first rounder but still surprised he's going back because he's not going to improve his standing with another year. Probably some good NIL $$ to return, though.
i want to win the lottery in part because we are due but the main reason i want to win it is so we can have the privilege of completely ruining flagg’s career
The league really needs someone in the East to get the top pick. Especially with any chance that Giannis gets moved from East to West in the summer.
Giannis to the Lakers, and the Bucks get the #1 pick in 2026. Just like the Cavs and Kyrie in 2011. Luckily Milwaukee doesn’t owe several picks and swaps to another team for a player that isn’t even on their team anymore.
Honestly just having some fucking competent executives in the east would help more than the number 1 pick. For example, people who don't trade fucking Luka Doncic for Trae Young
i've obviously been following this draft for a while and i'm very excited for my portland trial blazers to grab another talent (though we'd need to make a move to open up a roster spot, i think). at 10/11, i'm hopeful for: - tre johnson (though think he goes higher) - knueppel - carter bryant (if the shooting is legit; don't love the low volume) - essengue (lottery ticket) - fears (doesn't fit the team but love his scoring) i'm averse, at this point, to: - bailey (though we're not going to have a chance at him, anyways) - newell - jakucionis - mcneeley (prefer the duke kid) - murray-boyles but i'm excited to watch all the videos and learn more about these guys and flip my opinion entirely. also absolutely happy to trade our 1st for zion.
draft cycle worked out nice for the wolves getting the pistons pick to convey and an owed jazz pick ending up at 31 asa newell seems like a tim connelly guy, as a huge slo mo fan finch would probably like demin i like the idea of getting a young big in the building just avoid any frenchies that cant shoot please
with the top two players in the draft, Duke must have dominated on its way to the national title? right? RIGHT?!!! Lmbo
won conference regular season and tournament went to the final four lost in a single elimination tournament to the second most efficient team in the country lmbo what a fucking failure fire scheyer immediately
Jase Richardson is hard to gauge. Super efficient scoring, pretty good volume for 3PTA and FTA considering. He seems like a Calipari guard that had to share backcourt with worse shooting older guards. Only 3 guys in that whole team attempted over 6 shots a game.
Vecenie did a mock draft pod where Jase Richardson went in the 20s and that seems way too low. I get the concerns about his size, lack of playmaking and being LH dominant, but his numbers are terrific and it seems like there's a lot of Brunson in his game that people would be dumb to overlook. Especially considering the team and coach he played for that weren't set up for a young guard to post huge numbers in some of those areas.
The only way Orlando wouldnt pick Richardson at 16 is if they traded the pick. He played college ball in the state of Michigan and his dad was in the NBA
Lottery day bump. I think Hollinger at The Athletic is really good on draft stuff but his rankings today were kind of dumb. Not in how he ranked them, but he basically dumps on everyone outside the top 4 and then half his write ups are about how everyone else doing rankings don't know what they're doing compared to him.
MG2's updated lottery rankings by preference... 1. Washington 2. Charlotte 3. Brooklyn 4. Portland 5. Chicago 6. Toronto 7. Sacramento 8. Dallas 9. New Orleans 10. San Antonio 11. Houston 12. Utah 13. Philly Portland would be 2 for me but I think Flagg needs to end up in the East for better balance purposes.
Love how tankathon has drafting another long athletic player that can’t fucking shoot to save his life. I literally will burn down Kia center if we continue to do that stupid shit. It’s bad enough our coach and GM weren’t immediately fired at seasons end
i actually really liked that hollinger article. it feels like a bit of a cold shower in how he's "negative" on most prospects but it's a nice read when 90% of all other draft coverage is on prospects' ceilings. it's a good reminder that most of these guys are going to be rotation players and not stars. also, i love a board that goes against consensus in a way that is not contrarian to be contrarian. i'd almost the blazers rather stick at 10 than go up to 3 just because i'm afraid they'd feel forced to take bailey.

The most Atlanta hawks thing ever other than winning the lottery for the first time ever between Wemby and Flagg would be trading a pick for dejountae murray that eventually turns into Flagg.
What annoys me about Hollinger is that he focuses on the positives for guys he thinks are better than consensus, and he focuses on negatives on guys he thinks of less than consensus (even when he ranks them the same as those people). I get why he does it, but I also don't think that is all that helpful at the end of the day. But I'm also a Pistons fan who might just still be annoyed at the way he talked about Cade compared to other guys in that draft even though he still ranked Cade #1 on his board.
I would like to see Washington get Flagg, I think they've really got something if they add him in. Philly is probably last in the power rankings due to their shameful season.
