I didn't realize McKenzie was with the Raiders that long as GM. Seemed like he was okay but not an inspiring choice at this point. That whole Tennessee situation is bizarre with how they've managed it over the last 3-4 years.
I wouldn't hate it. Roster is garbage for the next few years anyway. It's not like some cool wiz kid is going to win. plus blind dog could use a good stabbing
Likelihood that Jerry waited a week to announce this just to make sure the opening gets more attention instead of sharing the spotlight with other teams? At least 50 percent, right?
on local radio this morning they were shocked he didn't announce it yesterday so he could hijack discussion on the pre/postgame shows
Also ridiculous that they declined Chicago's request to interview McCarthy last week during which time they weren't even attempting to negotiate a new deal with him.
I did appreciate Burkhart calling out the conflict of interest during the broadcast at one point yesterday
I'm having a hard time putting into words how excited I'd be if the cowboys ended up with a deion/shedeur package
is that true? reporting from this AM says the opposite. McCarthy will not return as the Cowboys head coach for the 2025 season as the two sides could not come to terms on an agreement on the length of a new contract, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Monday.2 hours ago
Schefter reported this morning (tweet posted earlier this page) that they hadn't had any negotiations. That's what I was going on. Maybe Schefter was wrong, though.
This is actually pretty crazy that they have as many regular season wins as they do considering how they are talked about. I think most people would say that, after Jimmy Johnson, the only consensus good coach on that list is Parcells, who has the second-worst record out of their last seven hires at 34-30. I would have bet a good amount of money that more than one of their last seven HCs had a losing record.
Jerry would finally max out the media coverage meter. So seems like his dream scenario. Fox would have to start a brand new fucking channel dedicated to covering Dallas/Deion 24/7 365.
The Jaguars should be calling Fat Mike non-stop. Losing in the playoffs would be a big step up for them. Monken seems like a good fit to replace him in Dallas.
More concerned about how the last few years of his time with the Raiders went. Of course given this new power structure it may not matter who the GM is.
Looks like those early reports are way off on the favorite for the titans gm job. 5 finalists have been reported. They are Kansas City Chiefs assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi, Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant GM John Spytek, Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham, Indianapolis Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds, and Buffalo Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray, according to reports by Adam Schefter, Tom Pelissero, and Ian Rapoport.
Graziano's predictions for the remaining HC openings... Bears - Brian Flores Cowboys - Kellen Moore Jaguars - Joe Brady Jets - Arthur Smith Raiders - Ben Johnson Saints - Aaron Glenn
Kellen Moore would be boring as fuck, if Jerrah is gonna stay meddling at least make it entertaining goddammit
I think Joe Brady is awesome but if feels a bit insane for him to be getting a job already after holding the Bills OC job for such a short period of time.
Everyone since Switzer has been boring outside of Parcells. Moore would be weird because they fired him. I have no clue what his personality is like, but it's hard for me to understand why Monken wouldn't get a job over at least a couple of those guys if he wanted one.
I mean the guy has been pretty successful at the places he's been except for Carolina because no one succeeds in Carolina.
Of those predictions, I think the most likely changes I would make would be Glenn to the Jets and McCarthy to the Saints. I don't know what his happening with the Jags but I could see them going with Brady. But I think Glenn would prefer the Jets to the Saints and I can't see the Jets hiring Smith over Glenn, regardless of their history.
Did you watch LSU and Burrow pre Joe Brady? I did, and he wasn't very good. Brady was credited by pretty much everyone involved, including Orgeron. The meeting that had with the Saints that led to his hiring is pretty well documented. I think it's safe to say Brady deserves a lot of credit if damn near everyone involved including his head coach has showered him with praise
https://www.si.com/nfl/bills/news/b...e-brady-joe-burrow-cincinnati-bengals-support I htink I'm going trust the guys who actually worked with Joe Brady over you bro Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow Praises Buffalo Bills Coach Joe Brady: 'He Helped Me A Lot' Per the man himself ^^^^ bro "Joe's awesome, Joe's very creative," Burrow told reporters. "He always has something for a certain look that you're seeing on tape to take advantage of that. It's a big opportunity for him, I'm excited for him. He helped me a lot. He helped me become the player I am today. Nothing but love for Joe."
