nobody talking about Caleb Williams? www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...— Seth Wickersham (@sethwickersham.bsky.social) 2025-05-15T16:28:39.573Z
“Chicago is the place quarterbacks go to die," Carl Williams, Caleb's father, told Seth Wickersham, author of "American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback," in the months before the 2024 draft.” Where’s the lie? They also retained a shitty coach who obviously should’ve been fucking fired. Williams and his family did nothing wrong
Bit of a discount actually, top guys have been well above 55 per year on average and he’s a bit short of that. Reasonable deal
I forgot about Cortland Finnegan. He's lucky that fight with Andre Johnson got broken up by the refs because that was not going well for him
i would love to be wrong because i'm not a #hater but i think that's going to be the worst contract in the league soon trent williams is old. mccaffrey is old. kittle is old. aiyuk was injured. etc.
They have the same AV. Dak has an average AV of 12.4 after 9 years. Purdy has an average AV of 12.3 after 3 years.
Cowboys fan and not a fan of Dak but when healthy he is a pretty good QB playing without multiple good options. Purdy has been on easy street the whole time he has been in the league.
Seems like every new QB extension besides the elite tier guys gets this same reaction. And then in 2&3 years the contract seems fine because They're like #13 in QB pay now. Purdy is fine and the 9ers will be fine.
Aight. Purdy has a better completion %, y/a, y/c, rating, higher td%, lower int %, qbr. The only counting stat Dak is better than Purdy is y/g at 257 to 238 for Purdy. But I guess those are all just fake stats as well.
Good for Purdy. Feel like he deserves it based on how little he was paid on his rookie contract in relation to what he did.
Yeah this is ok. He’s not in the elite tier and his contract is likely structured that the cap hits aren’t bad for the first couple years. If he continues to play well he’ll get a new deal before the cap hits get huge. Way too much attention is paid to the AAV on these deals.
It's just the next in line rate among the good but not elite QBs like Dak, Lawrence, Love, Murray etc.
the deal is fine, they just have to prove they can build a team around him with an increased cap hit since he isn’t a force multiplier. given how much their success has been about non-QBs that’s TBD
Outside of the Chase Daniel career, man the 4th/5th starter in a pitching rotation that you can eat up some innings despite a 4.00+ ERA still gets you like 5 years $75 million
Purdys real value to Shanahan + Lynch was saving their jobs from Trey Lance trade blowing up in their face
And Dak would have better stats than Purdy if he got to play in that offense I’m not sure how anyone who’s watched enough of either of these QBs can come away thinking Purdy is the better guy
you guys are forgetting that Brock Purdy is Cyclone Scum and should therefore be in prison, not signed to a large NFL contract
Saints got the true Iowa State legend. Deal Kings legend Hunter Dekker https://www.neworleanssaints.com/ne...ster-undrafted-free-agent-five-things-to-know
The Bears and newly acquired standout G Joe Thuney have agreed to terms on a 2-year extension to keep him in Chicago past 2025. For the Bears and Joe Thuney, it’s a 2-year deal worth $17.5M per year. He’ll make $51M for the next 3 years with $33.5M fully guaranteed at signing.— Ian Rapoport (@rapsheet.bsky.social) 2025-05-20T14:26:48.903Z
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I really don't care if onside kick success rates are abysmal. They should be. Football is a sport with a clock. If a team is trailing and the clock is gonna be a problem for a team, then maybe they should lose.
agree with tyler. Sorry tobias. if you score a late TD against prevent defense to make it a one possession game, the probability of getting the ball back should be under 10 percent.
