I'm sure it's a disruption but it's so formulaic now. You're going to get scenes of the QB being boring, there's going to be a weight room montage, there's going to be guys on the bubble with big personalities, there's going to be a fight at a joint practice, there's going to be clips of guys getting cut but being told "you can play in this league," there's going to be a segment on how much the coaches love their families even though they barely see them. Will still watch
Feel like if you ban the hip drop tackle that being pushed/aided by other players has tilted competitively towards the offense too much. The answer is for refs to be more aggressive blowing plays dead with forward progress stopped. There are too many examples of plays becoming a rugby scrum and after several seconds the group suddenly starts moving forward for 8 yards. I don't know how the defender is supposed to try to tackle in that scenario other than using their own weight which is banned.
The thought of an nfl owner tweeting like this today is borderline preposterous The early days of Twitter really were the good shit
I don't think there is a life I envy more in the history of civilization than the heir to an NFL franchise. Cheers to Irsay RIP.
Did Irsay really tweet about Sarah Palin’s feet in 2010? Speaking of the Palin, her daughter got knocked up back then and the kid is now 15. Crazy to think about.
Mina’s annual WB Draft (who you’d want for the next three years, regardless of team situation) Ollie Connolly odds, Mina Kimes evens 1. Mahomes 2. Lamar 3. Allen 4. Burrow 5. Daniels 6. Herbert 7. Stroud 8. Dak 9. Love 10. Hurts 11. Maye 12. Stafford 13. Goff 14. Baker 15. Purdy 16. Geno 17. Kyler 18. Trevor 19. Bo 20. Caleb Williams 21. Bruce 22. Darnold 23. Penix 24. Tua 25. Ward 26. McCarthy 27. Dart 28. Fields 29. Shough 30. Richardson 31. Rodgers / Will Howard 32. Browns
And yet people are still talking about him like he isn’t a nepo baby From starting as a ballboy to owning the team, Jim Irsay will be remembered as a Colts lifer.— The Athletic (@theathletic.bsky.social) 2025-05-22T00:28:29.210Z
Tush push is one of my favorite things in recent years because it provided evidence that so many football coaches are completely idiotic. Giants trying it with Daniel Jones, all the sudden the “unstoppable” play was stoppable! And then college coaches who run spreads just thinking it will work, even better when it’s like Western Michigan vs Ohio State
I would pay a large sum of money out of my own pocket to watch the non-NFL flag football team vs. the NFL flag football team in a qualifier to see who represents the US— Bill Barnwell (@billbarnwell.com) 2025-05-26T18:07:48.148Z
Mahomes, Lamar, Burrow, Allen each get to draft their own teams. Then they play the top 4 flag teams in a tournament. All 4 opening round games are pros v joes. Winner gets the Olympic spot (and automatic gold).
I mean it would stink to get your specific sport added to the Olympics and no one even considers you an option
I can't find it on YouTube but I'm pretty sure ESPN had one of those 30 for 30 shorts that featured him a few years ago. He's kind of like Kyler Murray against that competition. Obviously he was not picked in the 1st round of 2 different pro leagues. He did a move that I have never seen before. He like squatted to avoid the flag pull and then just ran past the guy
“Your sport” is playing a lesser version of a regular sport. If any of these guys thought playing this sport at an Olympic level without the best athletes in the world coming thru, then they were big idiots. Not like this is some niche skill like handball. It is just touch football. Of course Lamar and Chase are going to come in and dominate.
Like 3x3 basketball players getting mad if in 2028 a bunch of really good current nba players who aren’t 5x5 Olympic caliber players join and take your spot.
Isn’t the whole point of the Olympics to, you know, see the best athletes? Sorry to the guys who couldn’t hack it in the arena league.
Feels like they really don't like the Caleb williams 3 year outlook and I'm not sure why now that he's got an actual head coach. I need to listen to that podcast
Had no idea he was on the Bills. I need a faces in new places recap before the season starts. Side note does NFL network still do the Top 100 players show over summer? Couldn't find anything online
Yup, it’s like the US winning the world championship for hockey the other day. Nobody cares because it wasn’t our best vs the best from around the world.
no, I am on the other side of the argument. The nerds are making way too many excuses for Maye due to the team around him, but somehow managing to dismiss Daniels and his insane rookie season.
