That’s exactly the point. Doesn’t matter if it’s best non playoff bowl or the Bahamas bowl. Most teams are missing half of their two deep to opt outs.
hey man instead of 10 5 stars in each class they are now only getting 7. It's hard to be Bama right now.
Pretty sure he already committed but hasn't announced. Usually the only thing that gets BOL staff to put in an RPM
Good. Saw you guys have a couple other highly rated safeties you’re in with. Feel good about any of those guys?
I'm not sure, Jett most likely goes to Oregon. Eberhart and Lasiah Jackson are the only other two I know they're on. I think they'd be happy with just Edwards.
I forgot to respond to this but since we aren't involved I didn't care to ask for details. I was told the agent is a shitbag(huge surprise) and that he'd pissed off the bama staff in their Griffin negotiations. It's honestly probably the norm when dealing with these agents. I don't think it will matter that much because I think the kid goes to Bama.
You mean the ones committed to the terps? I guess it depends if Locksley can hang on. Whole season seems to be riding on their freshman QB.
I wasn’t thinking of anyone in particular, just all of them that we’ve been involved with. Elee, Edwards, Iheanacho, and the rest. The kid we took from St Frances is so small I don’t know how he sticks unless he’s apart of a package deal. I’ve been mostly checked out from recruiting, but I did see where we got a surprise visit from Elee awhile back after he said he was shutting it down.
The St Frances kids are always wild cards. Elee is gonna drag that out to the highest bidder in December. Iheanacho is going to command a large bag but he doesn’t have the drama around him as the others or the school / posse to drive the drama. Very smart kid. I think he just commits for a large number and sticks.
One of our commits is transferring to St. Frances. Currently plays in Philly. Was told the St. Frances has basically been a feeder school for Auburn. Hopefully he sticks.
Not a feeder school to anyone for any length of time. Year to year Michigan had a run due to poggi and then Maryland picks up some kids…rest go SEC
yeah for a school that has so many coaches with ties to various places, they shockingly really do seem to just let players decide
We very much enjoy your table scraps. At this point, I’d rather have the 50th ranked kid in GA over the 10th ranked kid in Jersey. I know Golston is a VA kid, but we’ll be more than happy to take him off your very full plates.
dad was really good, my guess is undersized for where he'd profile in our scheme. We ended up eventually offering Thomas Davis Jr so never say never. had not heard his name in a minute but def down the board, will tag you if I see his name popup for sure.
I partied with his dad a good bit when he was at UGA. Awesome player, even better dude. I doubt we are a serious player at this juncture but hard to know for sure until after his OV.
Sounds like they may have him work out at his OV? Not sure I’ve ever seen that with a legacy before, but I’m sure it happens a lot at bigger schools.
We only have two kids from there and they weren’t the most highly recruited guys. I think Durkin is the only coach on our staff with Maryland connections so they’ll all probably leave when he does. I think I read we hired some off the field guy from there too.
Not imo. He's getting paid and the idea of going from UHigh to LSU (The school is on LSU's campus) doesn't always vibe well for some kids.
LSU recently let their Director of Alumni Relations and High School Outreach (Nicholas Brossette) go because they hired Austin Thomas from Ole Miss. Nicholas went to UHigh and was in charge of trying to fix the relationship/image of UHigh kids "going across the street" to LSU. I've always thought that the relationship between UHigh and LSU would be a peculiar one when it comes to high school talent, because kids tend to get bored with being in the same place for that long. https://www.louisianasports.net/2025/01/16/report-brossette-let-go-by-lsu/
I'm old now and it might have changed but growing up in Athens so many kids hated UGA. It's everywhere you look and it's all about UGA, etc. Kids want to see something different/get tired of the same old shit being thrown at them.
If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have attended LSU for my undergrad (My other options were UW and UGA). You have to seek out folks actively who aren't from the Baton Rouge bubble, and then some folks still treat you like you are still in HS. It might be a bit different now that LSU has become such an out of state hub. But when I was at LSU, it felt very small. TOPs was my only reason for staying.
I'm happy with my decision to attend SCAR undergrad and grad. If you're a recruit reading this you will be too!
I grew up about an hour away from RU but was excited to go for undergrad. But by the time I got to grad school I wanted to go anywhere else. I always wondered why more schools didn’t establish their own affiliated high schools to funnel talent to their universities. I guess the sentiment you guys are describing explains at least part of the reason why the don’t.
