texas doesn’t play the money game. they want players who bleed burnt orange and give it all for this university
stuck around longer than expected and was supposedly as good as Sayin most the spring if not better before the spring game Everyone expects Sayin to be starter but glad we have him as a backup
Seems like there are some really steep buy outs in all their hs contracts. Chad wanted to do the same here. Bet it’s more of a fist transfer portal exodus
lol we had a beat writer say that kid was about as stiff of an ol they had ever seen at a major camp.
Pretty much every school has about that 14.5 million a year for rev share right? That's a huge percentage of their team allocation if so
On3 has probably written about Ojo 100+ times and it’s always we like Texas but Ohio State is a close second. They catch wind of his TT offer yesterday and now Wiltfong, Spiegelman, and the rest are claiming they nailed it Trump’s America
As bad as everything is in college sports currently, these agents taking 20% is the most disgusting part for me
As with all nascent markets, it will inevitably correct itself - at least to a large degree. Just sucks until we get there.
Taking 20+ percent and publicizing the kid's money (just so your name is mentioned in the tweet) to put more pressure on him before he even shows up on campus is so gross.
most committed programs will commit 75-80% of the 20.5 so 15.5-16.5 million so yes, that is a large allocation. but, if they find a legit NIL deal, they could off load much of that amount in order to have more rev share for the bulk of the roster....in theory of course
is it 5.1 per or 1.7 per the latter is a touch shy of what Cantwell is going to get from Rev Share, and 12% of the "cap" is not far off from what a franchise LT in NFL gets allocated (if you believe Ojo is franchise quality).
My understanding is that schools can go up to $20.5 for the 7/1/25 - 6/30/26 period, but that is for all sports. I may be wrong about that. Schools can allocate any way they want, but still have to comply with Title IX, which is why OSU is sharing with women’s basketball and volleyball. If the Ojo numbers are true, this is an insane share of revenue for the AD total going to one incoming recruit who hasn’t played a single snap.
also, at this stage, we ought to be asking if the deal is fully guaranteed or if the # being tweeted out is reflective of hitting every contractual benchmark. acting like an NFL fan slurping up the schefter slop is not befitting of this thread.
Rev share is not beholden to Title IX as of right now. It’s why most big time football schools are putting $14-16M of the $20.5m to football right now.
yea that would not be 20% of the pie unless you are Auburn and calculate independent NIL earnings as part of the capped pie
