I think the road between us is generally one way, but maybe Mike's had his construction hat on over these last couple of months
Their enhanced investment in the program is dropping a bag on a 3* with a funny name that will get aggregated
This one sucks, Miami held onto him against all odds for months kids good #Miami Redhawks #Michigan Wolverines
I mean, 17 kids decommitted from PSU, I think we'll definitely get a good amount. next few months are gonna be fucking fun, between this and the portal. e: there's 2 VA kids there I'd imagine follow Franklin, especially one that's like a 40 minute drive from VT. there's also 2 DeMatha kids that decommitted and Franklin is going to retain former DeMatha coach and current VT RB coach Elijah Brooks so there's a few more possibly. I don't know enough about the rest but I'd have to think several more will come. QB is wide open, could nab Falzone (deffo spending majorly in the portal for that one tho, watch out for VT this offseason).
he still has to find a way to outrecruit the top of the league otherwise he's in the same spot he was in at PSU what are the odds he outrecruits Clemson, Miami, and Florida St? Below is VT's recruiting 2006-present and how the 4 year rolling average looked relative to FBS. Maybe Franklin gets them to break the top 20, but feels like a stretch to think he gets much higher than that, particularly since he took 14 years to get Penn St into the top 12 as of 2025, VT is 8th in the ACC in talent acquisition 2022-25
Ryan Day and Jim Harbaugh aren't coaching at those schools. all he has to do is get close in talent, not out-talent them.
yeah the guy that lost to folks like scott frost and mark Stoops will have no issue outcoaching all the bums in the acc
yea, honestly he's shown little overall success. it'd be crazy to think he can just walk into the buzzsaw named the ACC and compete. Mike Elko couldn't do it, Fran Brown has no success, Brent Key is a terrible coach, Rhett Lashlee is overrated, it's probably not wise to assume Franklin will be any good at all.
you just named a bunch of coaches who haven't won a single ACC title lol I'm glad you're excited to hire Franklin. but he has to actually to build that roster up from a pile of shit first and then win games. nothing in his history suggests he'll beat the teams who recruit better than him, regardless of who is coaching those teams if he ever wins an ACC title at Tech I'll be impressed
12 year average of 8-4 5-6 in post season 0 national title appearances 1 shared conf title 5 of the 12 years failed to have a winning record in big ten play I think little overall success actually sums it up
Kids been committed to Wisconsin for two years, takes easily 40 visits leaves *attends an elite Region high school
yea, should be quite a few commits just from the weekend. he's also got a bunch of the former PSU commits coming and other kids. was quite the fortunate timing for the hire since we get one last home game and he doesn't have to coach at all and is going to spend the entire weekend just selling the program.
Lot's of rumors floating around that Vandy is about to flip Jared Curtis from UGA. Would be massive for Vandy, but we'll see
