Ok so only a year older than me. I also didn't get into it until I was older. I watched some USA and Crew back in the mid 90s when MLS started but wasn't into it enough to get up early in 02. Really regret that and feel like I missed out
Maybe is because I watch in Spanish mostly but I don't have any problems with beIN other than having to pay extra for the sports package which I would anyway to get NFL network, NBA network, etc.
I don't mind beIN at all...I think they do a great job of coverage. Of course they are going to show the big boys on TV....that is where the ratings and money is at. Their online streaming is great as well for other games.
I pay extra to get it, don't get it in HD. Their all is pretty nice but really my biggest issue with them is how hat they have rights to too many things and I wish som on else had Ligue 1 so I could see more of La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1
Well you're a Real fan so of course. For me as a City fan I'd love to be able to watch Girona with all their City loanees but that's rarely going to happen
I know they've got oil money but how long can they continue to just throw money down the drain? ESPN getting the rights to the Championship has to be a good sign.
Bein streams all their matches friendo. Return those cleats, purchase iPad, burn your faggy City shit, enjoy action from across Europe.
The road to become a potential host city at the 2026 World Cup is about to open, and there are plenty of MLS markets in the running. The United Bid Committee of the United States, Mexico, and Canada announced on Tuesday that it has officially begun an outreach for cities to declare their interest in serving as host sites for the 2026 World Cup. The group declared its intention to bid jointly on the tournament this past April. A total of 49 stadiums in or around 44 candidate cities will be considered for inclusion in the official bid, which will then be handed over to FIFA by March 2018. The list includes 19 current MLS markets and 10 potential MLS expansion markets. The Bid Committee intends to select 20 to 25 venues from this bigger list for its final bid. Here is the full list of proposed stadiums and metropolitan markets: UNITED STATES (34 cities, 37 stadiums) Atlanta, GA Mercedes-Benz Stadium Baltimore, MD M&T Bank Stadium Birmingham, AL Legion Field Boston, MA (Foxborough, MA) Gillette Stadium Charlotte, NC Bank of America Stadium Chicago, IL Soldier Field Cincinnati, OH Paul Brown Stadium Cleveland, OH FirstEnergy Stadium Dallas, TX Cotton Bowl Dallas, TX (Arlington, TX) AT&T Stadium Denver, CO Sports Authority Field at Mile High Detroit, MI Ford Field Green Bay, WI Lambeau Field Houston, TX NRG Stadium Indianapolis, IN Lucas Oil Stadium Jacksonville, FL EverBank Field Kansas City, MO Arrowhead Stadium Las Vegas, NV Raiders Stadium Los Angeles, CA Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Los Angeles, CA (Inglewood, CA) LA Stadium at Hollywood Park Los Angeles, CA (Pasadena, CA) LA Stadium at Hollywood Park Miami, FL Hard Rock Stadium Minneapolis, MN US Bank Stadium Nashville, TN Nissan Stadium New Orleans, LA Mercedes-Benz Superdome New York/New Jersey (East Rutherford, NJ) MetLife Stadium Orlando, FL Camping World Stadium Philadelphia, PA Lincoln Financial Field Phoenix, AZ (Glendale, AZ) University of Phoenix Stadium Pittsburgh, PA Heinz Field Salt Lake City, UT Rice-Eccles Stadium San Antonio, TX Alamodome San Diego, CA Qualcomm Stadium San Francisco/San Jose, CA (Santa Clara, CA) Levi’s Stadium Seattle, WA CenturyLink Field Tampa, FL Raymond James Stadium Washington, DC (Landover, MD) FedEx Field CANADA (7 cities, 9 markets) Calgary, Alberta McMahon Stadium Edmonton, Alberta Commonwealth Stadium Montreal, Quebec Stade Olympique Montreal, Quebec Stade Saputo Ottawa, Ontario TD Place Stadium Regina, Saskatchewan Mosaic Stadium Toronto, Ontario Rogers Centre Toronto, Ontario BMO Field Vancouver, British Columbia BC Place MEXICO (3 cities, 3 markets) Guadalajara, Jalisco Estadio Chivas Mexico City Estadio Azteca Monterrey, Nuevo León
thats fair but you gotta blame the other US broadcasters for not stepping up. I personally like BeIn better than Fox, and whatever Fox is doing with their Soccer package these days. BeIn does a quality job all things considered. And theyre heavily investing in delivering the sport, which is what most of us asked for. Americans have a lot better access to Football than the UK. Sky is basically a Cartel, entire ripoff. Copa America in England is shown on a third rate presenter. And the BBC, ITV are getting less and less rights. Up until this move for NBC Gold package, USA football viewers were spoiled jmo.
Oh I agree we are spoiled but while I hate Fox and would prefer to watch something on beIN I can see a ton of Bundesliga. I would love to see ESPN get one of LaLiga, Serie A or Ligue 1 and Fox get another just so we would have plenty of access to all 3 but realistically that isn't possible because afternoons during a portion of the season will be airing CFB
Feel pretty confident Atlanta will get one this turn around after not getting it in 1994. We had just built our Dome but it was construction chaos for 96 Olympics. Mexico: Mexico City (Estadio Azteca), Guadalajara (Estadio Chivas), Monterrey (Estadio Rayados). Canada: Vancouver (BC Place), Toronto (Rogers Centre), Montreal (Olympic Stadium). US: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Gillette Stadium, Soldier Field, AT&T Stadium, Hard Rock Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Levi’s Stadium, Rams at Inglewood, Rose Bowl, FedEx Field, CenturyLink Field, Lambeau Field, Lincoln Financial Field, NRG Stadium. Host of the Opening Game: MetLife Stadium Host of the Final: LA at Inglewood http://thecomeback.com/soccer/what-cities-stadiums-will-host-2026-world-cup.html
Not much in the middle of the country there. I feel like Lambeau would be surprising. Not sure why it would be more likely than Nashville
I cant see Green Bay, while it would be cool, hosting. Would they even have enough room for a regulation size Pitch? And the lack of hotels, logistical issues, etc. Minneapolis would be cool.
Aren't a lot of stadiums here not able to fit a full sized pitch? Obviously not many are Wembley and its 5000 square mile pitch.
This is not one of the stadiums picked as a potential site. Nuevo Leon is where Tigres play, not Monterrey
Besides Vegas with the Raiders are there any other cities with stadiums potentially opening by 2026 that could be a wild card?
Hey man fuck you. Probably won't get it because of Miami but with the massive amount of hotel rooms and tourist infrastructure and being a past host who knows.
I'm sweating just thinking about it. I don't dislike Orlando, but it would be last on my list to visit in July.
The joint bid council is meeting in my here today. Cities who want to host are submitting their proposals.
I remember sitting on my grandpas lap listening to the radio for Italia ‘90. Just kidding. I was too young for ‘90. I remember ‘94 because my older brothers got to go. ‘98 was my formative World Cup. We had just gotten a satellite and my parents were nice enough to buy me the World Cup package and I watched every moment I could that summer.
Heard Canada and Mexico will both get 10 games with the rest going to USA. Canada wants more, Mexico doesn’t care to have extra. One thing I’ve heard is the committee is really concerned FIFA will try and screw over this bid due to the USA going hard after FIFA corruption. At this point there are only two bids; NA and Morocco. If FIFA deems neither bid to be worthy then it will go to the next stage and the original bidders can’t reapply.
I doubt that happens. They gave Fox the no bid rights to 2026 as a make good for 2022. It's going to be the North America bid.
Hope so. Just saying they are concerned about a possible backlash towards this bid because of the corruption takedown. Lot of countries still hold a grudge.
How confident is everyone that the US is going to get it? Used to be 80-90% but now I'm probably at 50-50 at best. FIFA is still corrupt as fuck.
http://www.espn.com/soccer/fifa-wor...-world-cup-bid-in-jeopardy-to-morocco-sources I can only imagine how pathetic Morocco's presentation would look compared to the USA/Mexico/Canada one. Lol at ESPN "despite the seeming disparity between the two bids in terms of resources and infrastructure". You can just say one bid is legit and the other is a complete joke that has a 0% chance of working out if chosen.
