I have a 1x4 already. A tiktok said that is easily defeated by serial killers. She’s also convinced someone is going to pull our garage door release with a coat hanger.
Need to see that racer TikTok showing the easily defeated (specifically only by serial killers) sliding door security.
I'm more interested in this 20ft long coat hanger that, when deftly wielded by an expert serial killer, can pull the garage door release
I can’t find one about breaking into sliding doors with stoppers. Here’s the cost hanger thing. I’m on the record that both of these things are ridiculous.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...cleaning-mess-SWAT-team-raid-family-home.html In full dad garb here. Feel terrible for his own family, they’ve lost as much as any of the victims’ families.
This is incredibly stupid. If a would-be burglar is going to bend the garage door enough to stick their arm/hand through then they are going to just kick in a side or back door with a lot less visibility than going in the garage door facing the road. Or break and climb through a window.
I wonder if insurance or anything covers the damages he incurred. None of that was his fault unless he knew what his son had done and still harbored him.
I thought you were talking about any damage done to the sliding door and/or garage by the murderer and I was gonna say I'm glad we're getting to the heart of this matter finally.
They'd already pulled him over twice with no issues, why not just do that again and arrest him? Did they really need to have swat guys jumping through windows? I know those guys get off on that shit but that seems very unnecessary in this situation and much more dangerous for everyone involved.
Epic takedown of a violent killer plays way better in America than guy arrested while going to Starbucks.
He was a prime suspect but they still hadn’t gathered enough evidence to charge him at the time they were pulling him over, right?
If you're to believe the FBI's statement, they weren't responsible for him getting pulled over anyway so the Indiana cops wouldn't have known about him
That’s what they’re saying. They were watching him and following him for 4 days before they arrested him. It’s how they were able to see him throw stuff away in the neighbors’ trash cans and go and collect it. I’m guessing he thought of he brought all of the evidence he had on him to PA and get rid of it there they’d be less likely to find it.
Right. I'm not saying they should have arrested him then. I'm just saying I think they could have arrested him at some point when he left the house. I don't think they needed to have people jumping through windows. He'd already been pulled him over twice since the murders, why not just do that again and arrest him that way?
I would assume they want a controlled environment as much as possible. Better to surprise him at home where you have planned scenarios out than to try and take him down somewhere in public.
Those middle of the night surprise raids go sideways a lot. People don't know who is breaking in and start firing at the police. I get that he committed a terrible murder, but 50 officers had to raid the house in the middle of the night?
I thought it was state police that arrested him? Doesn't matter really, law enforcement in general likes to go overboard to get their rocks off. You can't tell me they couldn't have arrested him without 540 people kicking in doors and windows at 4am when they'd already stopped him twice in the previous couple weeks.
Dbl I know it sucks that the guy got his house roughed up but that's kind of the price you pay for raising and hosting a serial killer. I feel bad for him too but so much shit can go wrong when you pull someone over wanted for quadruple homicide. Go get his ass with a team and be done with it.
Oh I don't care about the dude's house, it's just the general overboard response from law enforcement in so many cases that I don't like. Sure, things can go wrong when they pull him over, but they had already done it twice with no issues. By kicking in doors and jumping through windows at 4am, you don't know what you're getting either. Dad could have 100 guns and started shooting and what he perceived to be intruders. It happens a lot. And serial killer?
Historical phone records - 23rd of December DNA from PA trash likely flown back to ID on the 27th or so PCA and arrest - 29th Reason for morning arrest? 4 murders in vicious fashion with a knife -> who knows how he'll respond
Youre still missing the point of why they do that vs pulling him over somewhere away from the house. Surprising him at the house only poses a danger for the people in the house and the cops. Pulling him over away from the house puts everyone in public in danger.
man i bet they woke up with guns in their faces. and they have already said that the FBI was not responsible for pulling them over.
They = law enforcement They were aware he'd been stopped twice without incident. I just don't like raids in the middle of the night. See Breonna Taylor and many more that went really poorly.
Normally I agree, but this wasn’t execution of a warrant on some drug charges or something non-violent. If you’ve got somebody that you know has committed at least 4 murders, I would think you would want to pick them up as soon as is possible and in the least public place.
Moscow police department should have just called him and asked politely at his earliest convenience if he could come by the station.
When they plan to take someone in like that they have to coordinate a lot of resources including Fire and EMS. Not everyone in EMS is SWAT trained so it’s beneficial for the officers safety to be able to coordinate with those people who are.
I have certain posters on ignore so these threads get hilarious when it's obvious someone said something incredibly dumb
As a prior victim of this crime, you could not be more incorrect. They only poke a coat hangar through (it’s in the video). Takes 5-10 seconds for them to hook the emergency rope latch and then roll the door up. They grab anything valuable from the car/garage then roll down to the next house. Police said it’s very common for thieves to hit a block this way with a car waiting for them at the end. It’s usually purses and briefcases left in cars that are taken. Those are typically found dumped within a few blocks. It’s a crime of opportunity. A simple zip tie will prevent it as well.
