Only thing that makes sense to me from the other roommates calling about “unconscious person” is the bedrooms are locked from the inside (assuming someone could get in via sliders to the balcony/outside) and they wake up in the late morning, knock on the doors or bang on the door, no one responds for a long time or acknowledges so they call 911 about an unconscious person without entering the bedrooms. Cops get there and break open the bedrooms and find the bodies. That’s just complete speculation with having no idea the layout of the house And if it’s even feasible to enter the rooms from the outside
the seeming lack of urgency with the moscow pd for the first few days of the investigation remains bizarre
if mindhunter taught me anything, its that they are probably trying to pin it on some stranger from out of town instead of following up on local leads
Only things new I saw, they confirmed one of the roommates made the 911 call. Also they said 2 of the girls were on the phone with the one’s BF and called him like 10 times after they returned that night.
Were they calling him because they thought they were in danger? Seven unanswered phone calls were made from the phone of Goncalves to her former longtime boyfriend, a fellow student, from 2:26 a.m. until 2:52 a.m., and Mogen also called him three times from 2:44 a.m. until 2:52 a.m.
There's a news conference today at 3 PTC, another Wednesday. Phone calls from the two roommates thoughts are: drunken calls, come over calls or suspicious person calls. K was moving to Texas and was due to be in Moscow for a reunion among a few other things that week. K and Jack had been together for years and K's mom believed they would eventually marry, have kids. Mom believed break-up was not thought through on K's end. K's mom also stated K would text "there's someone following me, nvm they turned into the 7-11" often. K had the dog with ex. They were on a break and K texted something to the nature of the "Jack, get back to me. We share a dog together. You need to reach out to me." K's family believes Jack would never do such a thing and have vouched for him. Don't believe he's been formally cleared by LE, just the family and sister. Other info: Spoiler co-insides with ISP/police on the case saying they're psychologically stressed, as they're "seeing things people should not see", working 18 hour shifts etc
646 tips, 90 people interviewed Either they have a POI and won't tell public for reasons or they have jack shit. Sounds like the latter. Not much new, few things confirmed: Spoiler Two victims were found on the 2nd floor. The other two victims were found on the 3rd floor. Likely all were asleep. Some had defensive wounds, all were stabbed multiple times. Areas of interest: South of Taylor avenue and west of highway 95 Speculation Mininformation: We do not believe the follow: The following are not suspects: 2 roommates, male seen at food truck in white hoodie, private party who provided rides home to Kaylee and Madison. Identity of 911 caller and info has not been released They are aware multiple phone calls from Madison and Kaylee were made They were not tied and gagged 3 dumpsters contents were rummaged - nothing found Early in investigation - local business canvassed for fixed blade sales There are no suspects in custody and weapon is not located All sleeping/in bed, some have defensive wounds Biggest take away right now is the ex boyfriend, Jack, hasn't been cleared. New: 1) Other individuals “friends” arrived at the scene in the morning and it was implied either they or the roommates made the 911 call. 2) Phone calls and texts to K’s ex Jack were deemed to be unrelated to the investigation. Jack however was not formally cleared but by all accounts was not involved.
Profiling is a scam, but the BAU is gonna tell them that it was likely someone known to them based on it being a stabbing.
I’m going with stalker/killer who wasn’t actually known to the victims. Whoever it was it sounds like they cased the house and was able to murder people pretty damn quietly and get out without being noticed.
I don’t feel like we will hear much until DNA results are finalized. I think with a horrible event like this they would want to be %100 before charging anyone.
Yes because law enforcement has a sparkling track record of never throwing completely innocent people in prison for decades for horrific high profile crimes they obviously didn’t commit.
We’ve all watched over a thousand hours of Dateline, which makes us experts, do you think this was a known person to the victims?
I was more of a 2020 baby I think they could have known them I also dont think they could have known them
The things that stand out to me are what someone pointed out how there was no sexual assault and none of the victims were tied up or anything. It was a straight up murder with a big knife that the coroner said looked personal but if I’ve learned anything listening to true crime podcasts (jk) it’s that sometimes is just about Shitty AMC Show itself. Like that was the reason and nothing else and I’m going to say it’s a Michael Myers type of murderer that’s prowling the Pacific Northwest.
I’m a forensic psychologist, but yes thanks for proving my point that profiling is a scam. combine statistics and common sense, then you’re basically a detective in a case like this. Is it possible some random person broke into a house and killed four people with no theft of sexual violence? Sure, but it’s not likely.
Lets say its the %1 and its an unknown random person. What do you think they would be working on now besides waiting on DNA?
I have no clue what the police would be doing, I’m not in law enforcement. I think it’s pretty unlikely some random person killed four college students when there is no publicly known evidence of other crimes being committed.
I can practically hear Dennis Murphy ask “So, it seemed to you this was an overkill? Maybe someone who knew the students” as some frightened Idaho policeman nods his head
