You would think but Bama and Clemson can say the same shit

I think it’s certainly helping with Nyjalik

Shemar must be following the bags because Ed O seems to be driving that place into the ground

I know he’s a legacy but MJJ needs to take a hard look at what us going on up in Tallahassee and make sure he isn’t signing up for a shitshow

    ▪ Justice said John Campbell, the backup left tackle, has had a good spring and suggested that Issiah Walker, who redshirted as a freshman last season, remains a work in progress.

“He’s still underweight and still a guy in the shadows,” Justice said. “Just plugging along in a lot of ways. It’s kind of hard for him to break in. He’s progressing

I saw he was skinny when he was working out on his own but you’d think a year in a D1 S&C program/nutrition program would do wonders for him

I’ve seen enough to feel comfortable projecting at least 2 Heismans and future #1 overal pick for Garcia as his floor.

Everybody has been giving good reviews on Van Dyke, but we’ll see how much progress Garcia makes over this year

Also, like 16 guys not participating in todays scrimmage so I don’t think it’s being taken too seriously

My wife and I decided to do a last minute trip to Miami this weekend. Any recommendations for Cuban and Caribbean spots? We're staying at The Betsy but will Uber to other parts of the city as needed. Calle Ocho was the obvious choice but I wasn't sure if that was the best option or just the most well known.

Versailles is the most famous but I personally think Havana Harry's or Havana 1957 (they have a location really close to your hotel) are equally good if not better. It's a hole in the wall and a bit of a hike from the Beach but Jamaica Kitchen in West Miami is fire.

I couldn't disagree with this statement more LetItSoak . Both are "chain" cuban food at best.

While Versailles is also a "chain" the original is still the original. it looks and tastes way more authentic than havana harrys and havana 1857. this isn't meant to be a shot at hoosier, but I don't know many cubans who go to either restaurant.

Hit up Versailles, so you can say you had an authentic cuban experience.

If you want to get deeper into Miami, head to Rio Crystal on Bird road, but that's a hike from the beach.

islas canarias is the best spot for croquetas and empanadas but again, west miami and a hike from the beach.

I strongly recommend renting a car just because uber prices are insane right now.

Islas canarias. Man how could I forget about that place. Used to go there as a kid. Great food.

You have to go to Versailles just to say you went there. I like la carreta across the street better, but LetItSoak shouldnt be steered away from Versailles just because it’s too common.

Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it. My wife is from Ft Lauderdale so I've been there a ton but haven't been to Miami in 15 years so I'm excited to check it out again. BIL is Cuban so I've been trying to learn more about the food, culture and history as a way to bond with him + my neice and nephew.

I used to love going to El Trópico by the airport whenever I arrived in MIA, but haven’t been there in at least 15 years.

If that's your goal, find your way to Rio Cristal. There's nothing more cuban culture than a restaurant where your placemat is the menu, it's the same 4 waiters that have been there for 40 years, and you drink your water out of a 1993 Florida Marlins glass cup that looks every bit of 28 years old.

Also, if someone recommends La Rosa, don't do it. It used to be by far the best Cuban food in Miami, but it was sold a few years ago and fell off a cliff.

Car rental prices are even more insane than Uber prices. They wanted $700 when I was there in late March. So I had to take the Tri-Rail from WPB to MIA. But yeah it cost me $80 to Uber from downtown Miami to FLL on Easter. So it’s all really jacked up right now.

I think prices have settled now that Spring break is over but yeah, it's not cheap to be a tourist in miami right now.

Hard to make a specific recommendation for Cuban food in Miami because there are hundreds of places you could go. Versailles is more about the whole experience and because it’s iconic, but to be honest the food isn’t that great. If you’re going that far out, just head a couple of miles further west on 8th Street and do either La Casita or La Palma. I’m a huge fan of Rio Cristal, too, but it’s going to be a further hike. If you prefer to stay in Miami Beach and still eat authentic Cuban food there is Puerto Sagua on Collins Avenue and 7th. It’s been there for a million years and is a short Uber ride.

If you want something kind of unique for Caribbean food, try Ivan’s Cookhouse in North Miami. It’s a Haitian place and was once featured on DDDs.

All good recs, but I'd say that you might as well go to Versailles if your plan is to eat on Calle Ocho. La Casita and La Palma have better food, but not better enough to make it worth missing out on the experience of eating at the OG place.

Other Cuban places to hit up. El rey de las fritas and el palacio de los jugos. Frita sandwich at either one. You can't go wrong.

Fuck yeah on Rey de las Fritas. One of the reasons I suggested La Palma was for the disco volador sandwiches that most non-Cubans have never heard of. It was a staple 3:00 AM meal for a college aged Tiburon coming home from South Beach.

    Some basketball news:

The Team Final AAU team he is being hired from is pretty loaded in the 2022 class. Jalen Duren is the 2nd ranked player, and they have two more players ranked in the 25-40 range (Dereck Lively and Justice Williams). All of which we have been recruiting to some extent, and we seemed to have a little bit a traction with Duren in particular (though he is pretty wide open and not even a guarantee to go to college) even before Irving was hired.

Gotta be some part of the WR room, way too many bodies

Also the dead weight of some OL who opted out last year and aren’t D1 talents (Hillary and somebody else?)

I don't blame Brevin for leaving. He's a 4th round pick so he's gonna make the roster unless he's a disaster. Nonuse coming back to school and getting banged up again for free.

Something to keep an eye on over the next couple of weeks. He has visits to Miami, Memphis, and Kentucky lined up, but there is some buzz that, with the reclassification, Miami may actually be the favorite due to the connection with DJ Irving.

they have 100% been making promises to recruits about the NIL program.

King and Bolden getting 20k at 12:01 is a good start. Making the numbers public was really smart of them.
