There are 4 Newcastle midfielders right in front of the 18 yard box. Most of the league does this every game now and it doesn’t seem like many in the league have the talent to break it down outside of wide play. If you can get the opener the game ends up end to end with 4, 5, 6 goal margins. I hate it
i haven’t really noticed it for newcastle (i haven’t really been looking for it tbf until you mentioned it) we’re starting to try to test the middle while playing faster and opening up more space for the wings the last 5 or 10 minutes don’t think it’s any coincidence partey’s been wayyyy more involved since then imo
We’re just too slow. It’s again one of the other glaring advantages of Martinelli, he can make those runs. I’d absolutely love if we had someone who could cover space around Partey. Xhaka just isn’t it. At this point I have to think he’s our worst signing ever. He’s good enough to play in the league but it will never improve us.
I think we’ve got a number of players who suit the counter or non low blocks, Luiz, Xhaka, and Auba. Aubas finishing as been poor but he’s 2v1 most of the time
He's missed a sitter that a fucking semi pro would've made. He makes 350K a week, either he's match fixing or he's completely broken. He's not even putting things on target at this point. Newcastle could've not had a goalie in there at any point during his shots (and they quite literally didn't for one of them) and we'd still be at zero
