I never hated Sokratis. he always seemed to bust his ass, even when Arteta played him at RB for some reason. happy to see him go though, clear out those wages.
he played him there over AMN which I always found strange. just would have never been my first choice to slide over to RB out of the players available at the time.
AMN hasn’t really been a shining star, apart from 2-3 appearances last season. Arteta was attempting to create stability at the back, not create more instability.

I’ll be shocked if there’s any major money for transfers this window and even if there was, not sure they’d blow it all on someone to block the path of your 20 year old rising star. Gabriel needs to get games when healthy cause Luiz is done this summer.

Zidane seems like he's done at Real - I wouldn't mind him at Arsenal but 6 month loan doesn't make sense. Either a 18 month loan or option to buy.
I'm over developing other teams talent, because gaps in our squad. This season is a loss, in the EPL. So, rotate the squad accordingly, so we qualify for Europe next season through Europa & FA Cup. We need to stop looking at quick-fixes. We haven't been "1 player away" from competing for a decade. We won't get relegated, so just build for the medium to long-term future. That doesn't involve loans
to me, you're not blocking anyone in that position. you're protecting ESR from being run into the ground. there's nobody on the squad who is going to be here longterm that would get those minutes otherwise except maybe Joe Willock, but Arteta doesn't seem interested in playing him in any important games anyway. it's not a big deal either way, but I won't be mad if they bring in a body for the short-term.
Willian is in the squad, spell ESR with him & invest the loan fee in someone that is a long-term solution. The season is lost, regardless
