From http://www.Towerofthehand.com I read the whole series shortly after AFFC was published, 6 years has been long enough to find out what happens to Tyrion after murdering Tywin and Jon and Dany etc... but 11 fucking years, I would have murdered George already.
I've only waited like 2 weeks for book 5 buy I'm already pissed about books 6 and 7 taking another 10 years to come out
It seems like a common problem with EPIC fantasy series of this length. Same shit with Stephen King and The Dark Tower. I forget how much I loved those books when I talk about these, Lord of the Rings and WoT, but it's right there and there was a huge gap between books.
I am loving this book so far, about 75 pages into it. What made AFFC not as fun as the rest is what makes this book so fucking awesome, its like tyrion dany jon tyrion jon dany
I am liking it too, but the first 3 chapters that you are referring to have all been available for awhile. Has anyone noticed anything different in them at all? I kind of breezed by them. I thought I noticed something in the Tyrion Chapter, but it may have been there and I just don't remember... Spoiler Tyrion's first chapter Spoiler where he refused the mushrooms from Ilyrio at first
I didn't read any of the available chapters beforehand, the first word of this book I read when I opened it today.
I'm 318 pages in out of 959 but already God Damn are we going to have some things to discuss once most people finish the book. I'm absolutely loving it so far
Picked it up at around 9:30pm last night from Borders and got through the Prologue and the Tyrion chapter before heading to bed (7:30am conference call). Only spoiler chapter I had read was the Jon one so everything has been new to me so far. By the way the maps gave me a headache with that small font.
Can someone refresh my memory on something? Who took the Hound's armor near the end of AFfC? I remember he was with Catelynn and Thoros
Rorge, the guy Yoren freed from the King's Landing dungeons with Biter and Hagar. He took it then commenced with raping and pillaging. There are 2 Book 5 threads you can talk about it on until everyone is caught up
Ha, I had no clue there was a whole subforum for the books now until I searched for this thread and posted in it. I feel better after reading some others thoughts on the ending. But if that fuck makes me wait five years to find out the truth, I'm so gonna piss and moan like an impotent jerk and then bend over and take it up the tailpipe. Damn him.
Does anyone have the pic of Littlefinger cheesin like a motherfucker at the Hand's Tourney? I thought Cover1 had it as his avatar for a while.
Oh yeah, I looked for it the other but couldn't find it and meant to reply but forgot. I know I've posted it before so its in this thread somewhere and in my post history. I'm on my phone and don't have time to search them or I'd look. It wouldn't be any more than a few months back though.
i'm a little confused why cersei's 2nd pov of book 4 was included at the end of book 3? was it just a preview of book 4 or something?
dammit, took me three months but finally finished all the books including book 4 and this thread is now dead as book 5 has come out...onto book 5 now, about four chapters in, already more exciting than book 4
yeah, i actually thought their storyline was one of the best in the book...will get even better in book 6
Victarion is pretty badass and the Crow's Eye has some interesting adventures but the rest of the Greyjoys are fucked up
Does anyone think Euron actually made it and explored Valyria or do yall think he was lying. I'm leaning towards the latter
I just got through Book 4....wow! What a slooooooooooooow start. Read the 1000 page paperback, and it didn't really get good until page 700. Several chapters seemed like a chore.
yeah, I am just glad I got to read it right away after finishing book 3, i couldn't imagine how pissed i would be if i waited five years for that....don't worry though book 5 makes up for it
I may be in the minority, but I really enjoyed FfC. Septon Meribald's little speech about broken men is fantastic and might be one of my favorite parts of the series.
AFfC was a chore to read, oh there would be no end to my rage if I had read it when it first came out and had to wait years for aDwD. Arya chapters were nice, if not a little boring, and there were good parts here and there but vastly lacking interesting characters.
really? I thought it was more like FfC...so much of the book is spent as set up for the last couple books
I really enjoyed ADWD, a lot of moments that would have been even bigger had I not had six years of mulling over things and reading other peoples thoughts on what might happen.
