palace are good, this was always going to be a tough game glad we’re getting it out of the way now imo
we’ve won 1 out of the last 8 against Palace before today and Palace is undefeated at home for 8 games. i’ll say it again great result (if we dont fuck it up)
Opening weekend away night game, it’s a fabulous result. Not a fabulous performance but CBs and Xhaka/Partey were solid Definitely see need for another mid and winger though, nobody trusted to come on
I’m not gonna say anything crazy like he’s our best player or whatever, but he’s not not our best player
Lol that was blocked as sensitive content for me edit: apparently you can mark your own tweets as sensitive and now I feel old
Chelsea, Man U, and Spurs have had new managers since then so whatever. I like what we're building but need to be able to do those first 25 minutes in away games for majority of the game.
I dont get how anyone is not team Mikel. We’ve had plenty of growing pains i get that, but its like people have completely forgotten how absolutely terrible the squad was when he took over, and even worse how the players had no fucking fight in them. that takes a long time to turn around. I think theres a lot of similarities with how Liverpool handled Klopp. Is Arteta Klopp? no. but if the club is rotten to its core give the manager time to rebuild it, if you believe in his vision. United doesnt seem to buy into that idea yet but they’ll have to eventually, i dont see that shit improving.
i’ll say i thought white played pretty well yesterday going up against zaha imo my only real complaint from him was wishing he would’ve been tighter to his man on the free kick palace had where anderson headed back across goal and white’s man had a header from 6 yards out (gabriel should’ve been tighter to anderson too). white was still able to get a leg in there, but still got away with one there imo not many lw in the league as good as zaha, and i thought he held up well imo
being able to leave the CBs on islands against their counter makes the counter press so much more effective.
also, i didn’t have a problem with arteta waiting so long to make changes and only using basically two subs out of the five available (sambi doesn’t count) imo palace were on the front foot, especially that second half, and we may have needed a second goal if they were able to equalize. rather keep the starters out there, assuming everyone’s healthy, and ride this game out. when we get back tomi, esr, vieira, and fdj, then we can have better options coming from the bench imo
