I love him. We have a 2-3 year window before we really start losing talent & need to rebuild/reload... I'd be down for an age appropriate contract that enables us to help close the gap to City. Much prefer him to Cancelo, if we're continuing to raid your roster.
He's been excellent for quite awhile. We'd just need to rotate / manage his minutes heavily to ensure he remained healthy... something that has proven to be a weakness of Arteta
This is my preference, as well... so far as something actually attainable. I cannot see us managing Rice & Caicedo, although that's the dream
if you look at City's squad, outside of Haaland and Rodri, everyone was kept in the low to mid-20s for games started in the league. Arsenal had six outfield players in the 34-36 range (one of which was Xhaka). going to need players to fill out the squad that Arteta can rely on to keep those minutes down. if Gundogan can be one of those guys then I'm all for it.
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...ement-why-shouldnt-harry-kane-jude-bellingham Espn truly possesses the worst soccer coverage known to man.
I completely ignore ESPN’s coverage but I do read plenty of awful UK journos and holy shit this is bad even compared to any of the lowest UK clickbait
I love this thread's love of the apparel. And I think I've said it before, but I'm envious of Arsenal's ability to get adidas to release amazing merchandise
Our window of opportunity has now been officially established, as we will most certainly cash-in and/or Saka will want a different challenge on his next contract
Yeah that only applies to Pots 2-4. Pot 1 is UCL champ, UEL champ, and then champion of top 6 leagues (if UCL/UEL winner are champ, add 7th/8th leagues)
really, very gently-- at best. in a way, it's like we renewed him for you. you aren't buying more castoffs from the club you can't beat. you're buying a castoff from a mid table club that you DID beat.
You’ve been pushing this angle for a while. Acting like we’re definitely losing our top guys in a few years is
It’s not an outlandish statement. If we don’t maximize the opportunity we have in the next few years, it’s a certainty. Whether it’s by the player’s choice, or the club’s because they couldn’t get it done
Liverpool hasn’t lost shit, why all this gloomy stuff Acting like Saka is gonna leave us at 24 is annoying. By all accounts, everyone is very happy.
Who’s being gloomy? I’ve been pretty steadfast in my belief that Arteta needed time, when many were calling for his head. I’ve gotten a lot of shit on here for being positive. There is a very high probability that the peak of Saka’s value will be at the end of this contract. Win or lose… the club would be remiss, if they don’t consider selling him, as he could fund the future of the club for years. It’s the normal cycle… unless your Spurs & hold on to an asset for far too long. I don’t want to end up celebrating Saka breaking some pointless “most EPL matches with a goal scored” record in a 1-3 loss.
IIRC, they need to balance the books (or at least get $$$ on sales) before end of June for them to be able to buy players in the summer window..
Seems like he fits our and Liverpool’s style way more than United. No thanks on that price plus probably at least $200k a week
BUT he comes with a stalker https://www.fotmob.com/news/17ugdvf...nd-his-former-Chelsea-team-mate-Billy-Gilmour
