I couldn’t care less about Kroenke’s money but the price for Raphinha seems just a bit much, those expectations can be a lot.
I agree about the price but we still need more goals in this team, and at least Raphinha has proved he can do it in the EPL.
It’s a statement of intent, plus Saka insurance. If he doesn’t extend this summer, we’ll be scrambling for the next 12 months, over the coals, to get a reasonable fee for him & this
I think we just want/need to upgrade front 3. Martinelli/ESR haven’t shown enough to consistently start. Saka will extend
I genuinely sympathize with the mid level clubs here in that, it’s 5 subs. Imagine dealing with a fresh Saka, Gabi, Raphina, Eddie, etc….. there are more than enough minutes to go around, we have to use them properly. There’s more than ample room to rotate as well. It’s also a big reason why I’d absolutely enjoy Nuno next season, would absolutely love him to just be a Tasmanian Devil, but I realize that’s a pipe dream.
Window appears to be shaping up like this: First, In: Vieira Jesus Raphinha Martinez Then, Out (thanks clemsonvianj) : Pepe Xhaka Chambers Holding Mari Leno Bellerin Torreira Maitland-Niles Runarsson Then, in: Tielemans, once Xhaka is off to Italy Extend: Starboy Saliba *like a new signing
agree with that, though do you mean Holding (instead of Chambers)? imagine we will see Leno, Bellerin, Torreira, Maitland-Niles, and Runarsson out. not sure what we do with Reiss Nelson; expect if we get Raphinha that he will be sold. also expect Nuno out on loan.
Yeah, I knew I was forgetting a bunch of the "outs"... the one's you listed have already been replaced though & aren't really going to influence our strategy this window. Added them all & credited you
I can’t believe I’m writing this but do we think it’s either likely or preferable that Xhaka leaves? I’m just worried that leaves us a little thin in central midfield with Partey’s injury history if Martinez () is LB, 4th CB, and first off the bench in a more defensive midfield role let’s just add Martinez and Zinchenko and be legends
I’m not positive he goes, but if he does, I’m pretty confident Tielemans is an upgrade & will come in
with the way things have been going I’m half expecting Tielemans to have been a smoke screen and we’ll see a new name pop up out of nowhere.
Another bid for our favorite LB/CB/CDM/Butcher. my irrational desire to sign this guy is off the charts, Tomi and Marti tucking into midfield next to Partey, a front 5 of interchangeable forwards/CAMs and the return of the inverted pyramid. just like man city but with a sporting soul
“Raphinha to Arsenal” is a trending topic on Twitter rn but I don’t see any actual legit sources saying it
supposedly have a meeting with Leeds set up sometime this week, still seems like we’re kinda far off their asking price.
He doesn’t want to hang it up yet so he’s going back to his original club in Brazil. Atletico Paranaense
