TWO MEN...TOGETHER IN A CITY OF 3 MILLION PEOPLE????!!!?!?!??! Wow! What are the odds. Everything is proven.
At 2am. Very suspicious! If you have seen anyone who looks like these 2 people, please contact the authorities. Their description is: between 5'5 and 6'3, 130-250 pounds, likely identify as male, 2 legs, 2 arms, 1 head each, dressed in baggy, dark colored winter clothing with hoods, walking in a slightly offset side-by-side formation. Do not approach they may be armed with rope and cleaning supplies.
I lived in downtown Chicago when I was in grad school and occasionally I ventured out at 2 am. Never saw 2 people walking together outside. It’s defintiely a suspicious situation.
They said he had some injuries, right? He went to the hospital? Some lacerations on his face I thought I read. If (if) he's making all of this up, what are the theories about how that happened? Did he beat himself up Jim Carrey style on the streets at 2am? Did he put a rope around his neck, run into his building, then beat himself up? One of the problems with the theory that this is all a hoax is that he could have had someone actually attack him and rough him up a little.
It’s crazy how much hate mail famous people receive. I have never even heard of this guy before the attack. But obviously he had some people feeling some type of way.
This is like that moment when video came out showing the Native American guy approached the Catholic boys and not the other way around...
So just to clarify... Gay b-list celebrity was identified immediately at 2 am in dark as shit alley in downtown Chicago in -10 degree weather as clearly being gay by two random dudes who were so enraged that they poured bleach on the alleged victim, hung him by a noose, beat him savagely while the perps yelled "MAGA country!!!"...but all the while he managed to hold on to his footlong meatball sub? Or maybe this is more likely:
No one's gonna feel stupid for believing a victim's hate crime story from a marginalized (x2) segment of society. If it turns out not to be true, contrived, hoax, etc, that'll be unfortunate that he did that, and i'll feel pretty angry. But there won't be egg on anyone's face that served him benefit of the doubt upfront. Now if it turns out it really did happen, people like you oughtta feel like assholes.
You believe what you want to believe. Not where reality, rationality and reason should lead you. You shape facts to fit your opinions and pre-conceived biases. Thats what you should feel bad about. That's where your parents failed you as a human.
This is sad. You're saying it's ok to jump to conclusions if they affirm your beliefs. This is the type of logic that leads to Trump winning the presidency. We should be better than that.
I always wonder what this feels like? You're presumably intelligent enough to know you're wrong but you can't bring yourself to admit it. Do you think it makes a difference if you just don't acknowledge it? Is it a character flaw where you truly try to convince yourself you're not wrong?
what am I supposed to admit being wrong about, again? Choosing to believe the victim initially? Or just character flaws? Yes I have those. Ya got me.
Were you believing a victim if it turns out to be a hoax? Would you believe the victim if it was a proud boy claiming to be beat up by Antifa? Whether you turn out to be right or wrong you jumped to a conclusion based on it fitting your bias. That's no different than Lechnerd jumping to a conclusion to fit his opposite end of the spectrum bias.
8:20 AM PT -- Jussie's broken his silence on his attack, stating ... "Let me start by saying that I'm OK. My body is strong but my soul is stronger." He then expressed thanks, saying ... "The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words." As for the investigation, Smollett says he's working with authorities and has been 100 percent factual and consistent. He says, "Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe justice will be served." Jussie also reiterated his family's statement -- these sorts of attacks are happening daily ... and his wasn't an isolated incident. He says he'll address the details of the "horrific incident" soon, but adds ... "Most importantly, during times of trauma, grief and pain, there is still a responsibility to lead with love, It's all I know. And that can't be kicked out of me." Jussie Smollett did not refuse to hand over phone records to cops ... rather, he didn't want to turn over his phone ... sources directly connected to Jussie tell TMZ. The sources say cops "informally asked" Jussie if he would surrender his phone ... to verify he was talking to his manager on his cell when he was attacked. We're told he felt "uncomfortable" doing that and declined, but he was never asked about phone records. A Chicago police official had said Jussie refused to turn over both the phone and records. We're told Smollett has already said he will provide the records, and is in the process of gathering them. The sources want to clear up 2 other points. First, there are reports that Jussie told cops his assailants were wearing MAGA hats. The sources underscore what TMZ first reported" first reported ... that Jussie never said the men were wearing the hats. Rather, they screamed "MAGA country." And the last point ... there are reports that Jussie had the rope around his neck" around his neck long after the incident when he was being treated at the hospital. We're told that is not the case. He did have the rope around his neck when cops arrived at his building 42 minutes after the incident. The sources say he kept it there to "preserve the evidence."
So he finished his meatball sub with the noose still around his neck? This story keeps getting better.
people in those replies do not grasp what "reluctance to report" means. Not really sure what the point of this headline is besides clickbait. Most people are probably reluctant to report crimes.
So he got harassed, assaulted, he fought back, got a rope tied around his neck and bleach poured on him in a minute but didn’t lose his cell phone or subway sandwich?
The letter that was mailed to Smollett prior to the attack: This is a picture of Smollett in the hospital after the attack. The picture was taken down shortly after it was posted.
Ever been in a fight? That’s a lot going on for 60 seconds. Even if you drop the items and pick them back up. That takes time, especially when the adrenaline is flowing.
What? If you are attacked out of the blue with a noose put around your neck and bleach poured on you you aren’t going to give a fuck about your sandwich or anything else in your hands you are fighting for your life and getting the hell out of there
I'm not leaving my phone anywhere, ever. And most of the time it is in my pocket. Might as well pick up my footlong while I'm at it.
I really want to know what he got from Subway. I had a turkey avacado bacon wrap the other day and it was p good.
Badass alert. You’re going to get beat up in less than 60 second and still stay this calm while trying to get away from your attackers?
what if they ran away after the assault, not him Do we have those facts? Sure are a lot of assumptions about how this went down going on in this thread. Then again, shouldn't be surprised given the usual suspects of absolute morons.
If you don't think something like this could happen, just the way Smollett is describing it, I think you are a little naive. If you don't think there could be some shenanigans at play with how everything went down, I think you are a little naive. I'm questioning the naivety of anyone who is 100% one way of the other. I hope, eventually, we know the full truth. The problem is, I'm not sure what I want that to be anymore. Would I prefer Smollett is telling the truth, and some racist assholes targeted him like this, in a somewhat elaborate attack? Or woudl I prefer that didn't happen, and Smollett is lying, in a somewhat elaborate hoax?
Nope, he got beat up, fought back and then took the time to grab his stuff. Zero chance guys committing a crime after sending a threatening letter ran off and he was able to gather himself before taking off.
Stupid question but whatever. Not saying he is lying but why would it take any process more than a few minutes to pull phone records? At least with AT&T, I can pull them off of my phone app or the website and have them emailed or printed within a minute or two. Isn't that pretty standard across wireless providers?
Don’t know specifically how it works as I’ve never had to personally do it but I believe going through the provider takes more time
Even if they did, the point you’re ignoring is that is a lot of things happening in less than 60 seconds.
That's plausible, but why leave the noose around his neck? if he's got enough wherewithal to gather himself and collect his sandwich, is he going to keep a noose around his neck? And all of this while he has some, at that point, unknown liquid on his face (was it on his face??)? He was mailed a white powder a few days earlier, now he's attacked and they pour something on him, and he decides to gather himself, collect his delicious sandwich, and head home? not decide "fuck my sandwich, I'm gonna run home as fast as possible, and wash off whatever they just poured on me"? I'm not saying it could not happen like that. I'm saying it's a tad suspicious and not exactly how I'd predict it play out. But, in situations like that, things often do not play out like rational people not under that stress would predict.
I have Verizon and apparently don’t have access to call logs from the current billing cycle. I have to wait until they show up on the next bill to view them.
these type of small details that drive conspiracies are wild and stupid. Who knows or cares if or why he kept it on. Time will show whether it the allegation is credible or not. But wrapping a theory around the decision making of someone who allegedly just got assaulted is stupid. Did his shoes become untied during the assault!?!?! Did he retie them!!?!?!? Why would he take the time to retie them!?!?!?!
keeping a symbol of hate and vitriol around your fucking neck is in no way logical or plausible in that scenario (and certainly not for 30 or 45 minutes when the cops arrived), and is not even remotely close to equivalent to tying your untied shoes. So nothing about this raises any suspicion for you? Is there anything at all about the story that gives you any hesitation in believing it?
