Jim Cornette is an asshole and has a very narrow view of what wrestling should be, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I actually enjoy listening to him rant about NXT and AEW. It's pretty entertaining. I disagree with a lot of what he says, but it's still a funny listen
Cornette is the wrestling equivalent of the old football coach who is still trying to run the wishbone and thinks that the spread is just a gimmick offense and will die off

He won't totally go in on Cody out of respect for the Dream I assume. He still puts over Jericho even though I know they had some run in recently. I don't agree with everything he says regarding modern wrestling, but he makes some valid points. Ever since he started calling the one Young Buck who doesn't sell shit "Road Warrior Buck", I can't stop noticing it. He also may be the foremost wrestling historian in America. I would love to see him have something on the Network related to that. On that Darkside of the RIng about Montreal, he was laying out how he got the idea from a match in the 30's or something. It will never happen, but once fans are back could you imagine him jumping the rail, clocking one of the Bucks with his tennis racqet and managing FTR. Nuclear heat with that smark crowd.
He knows his wrestling history for sure and he took detailed notes of everything he did while working and has those books in his house. And I disagree with him calling AEW a mud show and an embassment, but like you I agree with some of his criticism. AEW is fun, but there are a few things they do that do annoy me. Also for an extreme anti Trump liberal, he has a lot of controversial takes that make you cringe. He hates the cross dressing guy in AEW, he makes numerous comments about how all the female Japanese wrestlers are the same to him and he is very anti women's wrestling in general. I'll find myself agreeing with some his rants then all of a sudden he'll say something that makes you wince.
