I remember reading a writer's account of trying to introduce a storyboard into the WWE writing room...and being laughed and mocked out of the building.
Mace is classic generic wrestler name. Not good, but not that bad either. T-Bar and Slapjack are dumb as hell
Tuned in to Raw for a few minutes last night and I have to say that was the goofiest and saddest shit I have ever witnessed. They should probably get out of the wrestling business.
"The only reason Lawler didn't say anything about Dio is because he has transformed in to something that Lawler doesn't even recognize anymore. Something dark, something sinister"
I kept thinking Slapnuts in my head. Also, Vince still on peak pettiness punishing Lana for Rusev going to AEW.
Honestly it's hard to say if Vince is punishing anyone or not, because you could argue most of the talent on last night was getting punished if you base it off of silly shit and bad booking
Raw Underground is going to end with Big Show showing up and delivering a knock out punch to Strowman.
Who will take on Eugene and Rosey S.H.I.T. (Super hero in training)? It’s Nathan Jones and Ludvig Borga!
I’m not here to change the minds of those who hate the WWE product. I do find it funny that there is an alternative largely enjoyed program yet people take the time to watch and discuss programming they hate. But hey I’m the mark so ignore my take.
I mean i watch maybe three minutes a week then read Bleacher Report. Like he said, they sugar coat everything and gave a segment an F-. Were in a wrestling thread, so what's weird about people talking about how shitty the product is?
Doesn’t seem like people enjoy the product on any level yet find enjoyment in just shitting on it. I find that weird. I don’t waste my time watching shows I hate. Well maybe a few seasons of scandal but I was pot committed at the time.
I turned on Raw for the first time in months and watched enough to see Retribution and one segment of Underground. It's WWE, it is ingrained in every one of us to check it out at different points.
I'll fully admit WWE does a couple things a year i usually like. Rumble and Mania and maybe ill tune in when other sports are slow. I now just basically read updates to keep up with what is going on, takes like 5 minutes a week and I can have a general idea of what's going on if I jump back in, or if I read something interesting is happening I may tune in the next week. Its almost where wwe is becoming dungeon of doom wcw level where it may be worth tuning in and not for a quality wrestling show
I don't have to watch any WWE to shit on it. I see something said in this thread, go scroll through clips on reddit, post about how terrible it is. Saved myself 2.75 hours, pretty great.
G1! AEW! Hell, some of NXT! That’s the good shit...like, not being ironic But this thread started WWE focused (cause that’s all there was at the time) and has kept on that path. That’s why I’ve found other venues to share my wrestling shitposting. As it is, WWE’s primary value is MST3K fodder, which does inspire quality content.
Idk I still tune in and watch the show. Normally off the DVR and fast forward when needed. I didn’t believe the show was the worst thing ever. I don’t like the names for the wrestlers in Retribution I also don’t understand the logic behind handing out contracts for NXT talent. So giving the segment an F for that alone I could understand because it’s just terrible sloppy wwe storyline outside of that I felt they did a nice job building up Retribution. They cut multiple strong promos and I thought the mask and look was much improved. I also think calling The Hurt Business a bootleg Nation of Domination pure garbage. Have you watched them at all? I don’t see the link outside of skin color. I don’t understand Braun going over that’s bad booking to me. But I was looking forward to seeing that match. I really like the Rey and Seth stuff. I agree that the SP and Andrade stuff needs to fucking end. Seriously we need to either merge the tag titles or start building teams.
AEW has found out how to put on good pandemic shows. Not perfect, but they're been pretty consistently good.
AEW has been very enjoyable since Covid. They have hit a wall creatively recently, but I think they are on the upswing with the Elite breakup.
I know you a lot of you all hate Cornette, and he is an awful person, but i can't wait to listen to his rant about Raw (if he watched it).
Not out of the realm of possibility that he could be back 10/14, but yeah, gotta have a contingency. Eddie and Mox promo battle would fucking rule. Book it Big Bicep Tony.
