I get people bored by Edge vs Orton (I know I am) but Orton is a safe worker, and more importantly, he’s one of Edge’s friends. I think it’s as much about having Edge work with someone he trusts in his first match program back than anything else.
this is a fair point. for me, when a guy like Edge comes back the first thing I think about is all the guys on today's roster that you never thought he'd get a chance to work with. the last thing I want to see is a program with a guy he's already feuded with for years.
I’m a storyline guy, not a work rate guy. There’s a lot you can do with Edge/Orton from a storytelling perspective. So I’m in the minority, but sign me up. The video packages, the history between the two, and promos should be terrific.
I was coming to post that in a spoiler...but now that it is not in spoiler, it is the only way they can save Charlotte winning the rumble and not making it complete crap. Hopefully they put Ripley over. Sucks for the women's division in NXT though, they are stacked and to have Charlotte come down and challenge for the title instead of one of their own kind of sucks

I wonder what Char's motivation for NXT Title would be. She won it when she was in NXT....it would have been a really cool story if she was coming for it because she didn't win it before but now not so sure. But I hope it happens.
agreed. Hoping for Ripley to go over seems weird they’d let Charlotte win the NXT title but who knows. I wish they would’ve let one of the NXT girls fight for it though. Like you said there’s a lot of good talent there.
Unless the plan is to send Charlotte to NXT (which I don't like because that's a lot of women to bury) while sending Rhea to Smackdown and Shayna to Raw. Freshens up the repetition of the matchups, but like I said, I don't like it.

I don't know why this conversation reminds me of my cousin Sammy, but it does. This guy is a fucking MARK. I've never seen anything like it. As we are watching RAW, Smackdown or a PPV, This mother fucker sounds EXACTLY like Michael Cole and it drives me crazy. He's smart, intelligent and successful in every aspect of life, but he is a brain dead zombie that refuses to say Roman Reigns without saying first "The Big Dog!!!1!1". He cheers for who they tell him to cheer for and boos who they want him to boo for. Last night while watching the Edge/Orton segment after the RKO he predictably said "Out of NOWHERE!" And later while discussing it I made the comment that I liked Edge, but he was WAY better as a heel and I thought Sammy was going to cry.

I love doing this. Was feeling pretty sad when we were a week out and needing 1/3 of each lotto to fill and thinking it wasn't going to happen. I haven't collected a single dollar in the 4 or 5 years I've been doing this but I do enjoy seeing golddust as my lone hope at money. This year was particularly brutal as I missed out on a ton of cash in both the ladies and mens rumble by a single entrant.
SIAP I might just write a whole piece about this, but it's incredible the journey of Chris Jericho and AEW as a pairing. Chris wanted to run a WWE show on his cruise and Vince shot him down. That was one of the inciting factors to his leaving and joining AEW. As a result, Chris being in AEW and winning their world title instantly legitimized them. Now here he is, walking down the ramp for a company that's in many ways, the spiritual successor to WCW (the company that never saw main event potential in him), as world champ and the undisputed central cog in the machine, while the sold-out crowd stands on his cruise ship, and sings his theme song, that his rock band performed. Imagine telling 1998 Chris Jericho what his life would be like twenty-two years later. It's amazing.
Was listening to the Jericho Podcast and they talked about Scott Hall and Nash leaving to WCW and also Jericho leaving for AEW and in both cases the guys involved would've stayed in WWE if Vince wasn't being stubborn and gave them contracts. But he refused and they left. In both cases it started a new revolution and powered a competitor. History repeating itself.
Wednesday thoughts.... NXT Good Beth selling the Edge injury Lee with a good promo Dijak/Priest was unreal. Those are big men doing lucha shit. Ciampa segment. The blood dripping on Goldie. That was an elite segment. Kinda feels like maybe we are getting a double turn with Cole/Ciampa Dusty finals. Great match. AEW Good Moxley promo and use all night. Didn't like the 10 v 1 stuff but Mox promo and Jericho promo top notch Hangman... I was against this drunk storyline but he's pulling it off Britt Baker promo... she's a great heel. Now if they can teach her to wrestle Darby Allin... You just drawn into him. I like the combo with Mox. The Bad Bucks locker room interview was so unnatural. Also them saying a mystery team and 30 seconds later the mystery team was announced. Riho? How they decided on her to be champ. I remember the days a champion had to defend the title in 30 days... ok Boomer Arn Anderson... Cody doesn't need him. It went from OK to cheesy as fuck with the quickness Shotzi... I'm not in. She's not great in ring and I don't understand the love gimmick wise. Mini tank was ok Kai/Knox...ugh that was it? Need to get Robert Stone on a mic because early on this package doesn't work.
I'm with Vince on this... I've never been a big Drew fan. That storyline needs some heat before I buy in. Shit I would close with Orton/Edge just because I loved that segment so much.
