Oh baby this is a bad take. fans are angry that Goldberg won, yes. fans are angry that Fiend got beaten like a jobber, yes. fans are going to be happy to see Roman Reigns in the title match at Mania, instead of the Fiend? oh no no no no
I just love how the problem of how do you let an overpowered Fiend lose was answered with a 2 minute squash by a 53 year old
I didn’t even realize it was a squash. my god, maybe they’ll say that was an imposter or something because that is just some of the most brutal booking of all time.
WWE just created peace in the Middle East by having thousands of Saudi’s cheering for a Jew to end the show. It’s bigger than wrestling.
I haven’t watched the show. But I see the anger itt. I will say this... Vince never should’ve booked Bray so strong that it turned Rollins heel. If he doesn’t make that mistake he doesn’t panic and put the title on Bray and if he doesn’t do that he’s not forced to do this. My guess is you put the IWC heat on Goldberg instead of Roman. Goldberg is still an attraction and will have people tune in so you get a short term bump before Roman wins at Mania. Smackdown is still largely bad but this is a course correction to a very large mistake they made months ago.
Brock is looking like a young upstart champ now on RAW when you consider the other 2 highest rated wrestling shows (SD and AEW) now have title holders who are 7 or more years older than him
just watched the Goldberg match... It’s one thing to make the title change but fuck was that just a piss poor match. Fiend got booked like a jobber. How in the fuck.
I think most will see it for what it is, an end-around to put the belt on Roman without having him take the heat for beating Bray.
Best thing for Smackdown is the episode after Mania will be nearly a week after. And it won’t be filled with snarky mania crowd.
Raw had low rating this week but it was one of their best "hour one to hour three" retentions. Which means the show is basically down to its most diehard loyal fans. Also Rollins had the lowest rated segment of the night, so fuck WWE for ruining him.
He hasn’t bought into his character. It’s got great potential but he’s not getting it over. Not to say WWE didn’t fuck him to get to this version of Rollins. Also wwe had nothing to do with Rollins twitter run...
Stuck his foot in his mouth a few times on twitter and in interviews taking unnecessary shots at indy guys and blaming fans for the product taking away his momentum
What do people think happens this week with Jericho and Mox? It probably makes sense for Mox to win the belt but I'm just enjoying this version of Jericho too much. I think regardless of what happens they continue this feud. Maybe Jericho retains due to interference and it builds to a cage or something similar in the future.
Jericho has the Judas Affect, the most devastating move in the history of combat sports Game over for Jyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnn
I'm convinced Jericho's using that as a finisher just to show he can get even the shittiest of looking moves over
I would keep the title on Jericho. Neither guy needs the belt, but there are better stories moving forward for a heel champ. I think Cody should get the win over MJF but then MJF does something crazy to put Cody out of action for a while so that feud can continue, but just not right now. My fear is they do a stupid Arn heel turn though. Also, the one heel turn we need to see is from the Bucks. Hangman is getting over huge. They can’t afford to fuck it up by having him turn on Kenny. If anything, I would have Kenny and the Bucks turn heel on Hangman.
As an aside, AEW is the first non AAA company to have me legitimately invested in the product. It still has tons of issues, but I appreciate the fact that their weekly show is not a chore to watch. I even sprung to order the PPV tomorrow, something I haven’t done since maybe Rock vs Cena I.
Sir, the Judas Effect is scientifically superior the the Tombstone, Jackhammer and Rainmaker, combined
Kenny and the young bucks turning heel would be quite the swerve from what most people expect to happen with Hangman. I’d be so for that.
I've kind of given up on wrestling lately. RR is only real show I've watched in a while. I've kept up with results in case I decided to watch again but honestly WWE isnt making me want to get back into it with what they are doing. And having Charlotte back in NXT is actually having the opposite effect on me than they wanted, I dont want to see her overexposed self in NXT. I think the ratings kind of support that since they dropped with her main eventing this week. I'm over them going back to book around Charlotte and Roman and a bunch of old timers. AEW didnt grab me at the start and had issues and I dont think I liked how over hyped it was and people didnt honestly assess the product and refused to make any criticism of it. I am seeing from a lot of places it has been very good the last 3-4 weeks. I think I may give AEW another go, and just watch AEW so my wwe bitterness doesnt carry over to it and I dont feel I'm over exposed to wrestling watching all the shows.
AEW's the only show I've kept up with for the most part which is fine for me, I'll watch NXT sometimes but feel like all I really need from them are the Takeover events, which I consider to be the most must see wrestling for my tastes
During today's All Elite Wrestling panel at C2E2 in Chicago the panel was asked about old-school matches they would like to resurrect in the future in AEW. Interestingly, Cody commented that they would be announcing a old school match concept tomorrow that would "upset some people." While what the announcement will be is not confirmed, it should be noted that Cody has in the past filed for a trademark on the term "The Match Beyond", a common subtitle used for Wargames in the NWA and World Championship Wrestling, so that may be a clue.
New day pod talking about how Vince couldn’t believe new days original gimmick as happy preachers wasn’t going to work and they hated it and knew it wouldn’t is so great. How many brilliant wrestlers has Vince sunk?
AEW has been on fire the last month. Everything is so well connected and going back to the Attitude era, everybody has a story. Nobody is out there just for the sake of filling airtime.
So if Cena puts Bray over, wouldn’t it have meant so much more for the strap? Then again, we’re still due for Cena “breaking” Flair’s record.
Bray beating Rollins, Bryan, Goldberg, Cena... at that point having Roman beat him would’ve been nuclear heat for Roman. I think Cena and Bray will be good. But please god don’t let Cena go over. Not a fan of how the set up the match tonight. Pointing to the sign and Cena doing the salute. Meh. But I’m in. Glad they didn’t insult us by having Roman win a elimination chamber. Just challenge and let’s go. Well done setup.
Not really a fan of the pointing to the sign for Bray. Doesn’t seem to fit the Fiend character but whatever. I agree though, if Cena wins Bray should pack it up because there’s not much else for him to try. Have to have Bray win that match; honestly needs to be kinda brutal as well.
I like both shows but I’ll watch AEW live and only watch portions of NXT. I can’t really put my finger on why that is but AEW just feels like a show that is better live. It feels like a wrestling TV show not just a wrestling show that’s on TV that NXT kinda of feels like to me. I think a big part of that is the venues and the crowds
Love Bray but he needs to get back into the gym. He’s looking plump again. Also agree a really brutal win against Cena could really help him
I remember getting to the stadium an hr before the official start time for the Orlando WM. It was right in the middle of the Andre battle royal and the stadium was already full.
RAW feels different because you don’t have this happening as much or as pronounced. It feels like a better watch. Is it flawless. Nope. But you can now watch it without thinking what a waste of three hours it was. Smackdown feels like it’s all Vince and it’s unchecked Vince. I’m pretty convinced the random good Smackdowns we get are the ones that Vince isn’t backstage
