Shame on WWE for doing that, you always hear story's on how Vince helps people without letting it get out in the public and I kinda assumed that was happening in this case... nope. The Network is dead. The Network was a bold idea but not a sustainable one for $9.99. Their belief was "we ask fans to pay $60 a month for one show; asking them to pay $10 a month for literally every show, past and present, is a no-brainer." And yet, the moment they did it, the Network stopped being looked at as "a monthly PPV plus extras" and just became "WWE's Netflix, plus a monthly PPV." Compared to Netflix, the WWE library was too singular, too niche. Now that Disney has entered the chat, and Amazon is stepping up, etc, the WWEN is going to be everyone's "first streaming service to cut." Credit WWE for seeing the writing on the wall before it happens, but this is the death knell of the WWEN.

I can't remember what was going on at the time, but the network forced them to have a PPV show every month and it just ruins storytelling. Everything is rushed because you have 3 weeks to build to the next PPV.
They were basically having a PPV a month anyway. Occasionally they'd take one show off in the Spring, to give Mania extra time, but remember the dark days of 2006 when they ran like 16 PPVs?
so they're going to go back to $60 PPV now and expect people to pay? even if it's $40 for minor PPVs... so people weren't paying for a service so the plan is to provide exponentially less content and charge 5-6 times more for it?
