AEW go home show had a 8% ratings increase up to 822 k NXT went up a whopping 40% to 813 k Those are real solid numbers this week for those two
Both shows will probably settle around these totals and slightly increase here and there. Hopefully NXT retains the boost from main roster viewers once Survivor Series build ends. If both shows can hang around the top 10 weekly, i'm sure they're happy.
I think people hold AEW to a weird standard that only WWE main roster is living up to, and really they aren't. Attendance has been down quite a bit for WWE. Weird to see people concerned for AEW attendance.
I think this is a concern because they don’t make money on TV so they need every dollar they can get.
Outside of seeing a pic of twitter, did anything about last night make you think that arena was empty? Charlotte was super hot. Amazing crowd. Doubt they're worried about and most of the tarped seats weren't even for sale.
Yeah this is the big concern for AEW. Having tarps out probably means that show wasn't profitable, but not a big deal until it's a weekly occurrence.
They also brag about their shows being "sold out in x minutes " Again, aew cant have it both ways...which I feel their hardcore fan base wants. Cant brag about selling out arenas and then get offended when someone points out they are not
Also WWE are tarping off usually 20,000 seat stadiums and people still give them shit about it and there are posts in here about it. Thinks its totally fair to point out when AEW do this in a 8,000 seat arena.
Cody is the hottest name in that company. When he shows up the crowd explodes. To then ignore that makes very little sense. Kenny has been lost on these shows. They really would need to figure out who he is character wise to put the title on him. I also think it’s very possible the next PPV is going to be there version of war games so it’s probably gonna be some time before another switch would be possible.
Think it would be hard to have one of your cornerstones be banned from competing for the title ever at the first PPV. Although its wrestling so that doesnt mean much...but still. If Cody wins, I like an extended Cody and Pac feud at some point. I think it writes itself with the way Pac is taking W/L seriously to get to the belt. He can claim he deserved a shot earlier but Cody got it because he runs the company. I always love the heels who have a little validation behind their madness
I think they got what they wanted out of Jericho. He made the company and world title legit. Now he can groom that stable under him before an eventual demise to it.
How would you guys stack the card on Saturday. I feel like the world title match is the hottest and most important thing going. And I would 100% close the show with it. But they put that stupid non sanction stip to the Mox match and I have a feeling they go on last.
The only way Cody losing makes sense is if they eventally introduce a gimmick to allow you to challenge for a title a la MitB/X-Division/Gift of the Gods. I think eventually they will need a mid card belt. Maybe not for another year or more, but eventually.
