AEW / WWE thread - Real Fighting about Fake Fighting

The 2nd table appearing at the end is the icing on the cake.

 

They are in the honeymoon phase. Even the shitty female talent is over.

 

I didn't like that spot. I was getting into a heated brawl and then the door swings open and he's just leaning on the bathroom stall. Took me out the moment.

That game is so fucked. I feel bad for anyone who paid good money for that shit show. Notice another table and double the chairs just get added in the final seconds of the clip.

 

Thats the one thing about AEW. I am so disinterested in the female talent although Kong and Brandi together might be interesting.

 

Is the female talent over though? All I've read about is how bad the division is. Which I don't disagree with, but they do get OK reactions.

HARD disagree. Count me among the people who doesn't care for OC's gimmick, that spot got me to pop. They've had so many big backstage and show ending brawls, it's OK to throw something goofy into one of those.

 

To be fair they don't have a ton of top talent to work with that the general fan like you and I would know. I do think they made the wrong call on the champion of the division. And its hurting them right now. I'm with you the Brandy stuff has my attention.

To the live audience hell yes. And how does the fan at home know who is good, bad or what to be into? They take the cue's largely from the live audience in attendance. For people like us that look at the product with a more critical eye what they have done with the division isn't enough, the work rate kinda sucks, the story lines haven't been on TV for 7 weeks now. It's a poorly built division.

Cody mentioned this on a recent podcast and its very smart of AEW to continue to do as long as the crowds are this hot. And that's lowering the ring music to highlight the crowd response and noise level. Cody mentioned that AEW is aware people want to hear the entrance music. But they are choosing for now to keep that lower so people at home hear the crowd. And its a very smart play because a hot crowd can take talent who may not be over and give the appearance they are. It elevates everything on the show. So even bad moments don't look bad because the crowd is reacting to it in a major way. I think we have said before with RAW, Smackdown, PPV man that match was great but the crowd was dead or that card/show was good but people sat on there hands. It drags down the viewing experience. Right now AEW is getting the counter of that

 

I can see that for sure.

 

Here is a little talked about fact. Most AEW entrance music sucks.

 

Totally agree. The way that crowd reacted to Darby last night actually got me involved in the match

 

I like Cody's music a lot.

 

MJF's and Dillinger's both stand out to me, Omega's new theme drops him like 5 rungs from his njpw days

 

Does SCU actually do anything for anyone? I just don't get it. There's at least 6 tag teams in AEW I'm more into than them

Ah yeah, this. It's like listening to a lot of varieties of David Flairs wcw theme. The themes are butt.

I just flipped back over, I guess Randy/Ricochet were getting a tag title shot because they're on the SS Raw team? Also, when did Vikings Raiders win the belts. Obviously just a set up for the shenanigans but idk I never watch anymore

 

WWE managed to take what was a good storyline for a one off PPV and completely run it into the ground before the PPV. Does anybody really even give two shits at this point? Especially since they brought out the roster t-shirts last night complete with USA and Fox logos on the back.

I turned on RAW for a few minutes and saw a really good McIntyre vs Owens match that was then stopped for seemingly no reason. Then a brawl broke out that no one gave a shit about. I'm just out on WWE

 

Last time was the first time I watched any of it live in at least a month. Probably longer. And I only flipped it on in the beginning because MNF hadn't started. Then caught the last 5 minutes maybe.

 

They went from annoying 50/50 booking to an even more annoying DQ/interference on every match. There is honestly no reason to watch.

 

I'm pretty much all in on AEW at this point. Don't even trust NXT because of all the cross over they're doing.

 

I flipped over to it with 10 minutes to go last night just to see what was happening. First time I have watched any of Raw in months. Awful.

 

So Randy Orton calling Tony Khan "Jacksonville Dixie" is the hottest of burns.
