Not sure how well this will go over with the AEW crowd. A lot of them don't seem to be into heat like that.
MJF is great, and I thought that was a good segment. He doesn’t need to be Bubba Ray Dudley to get heat though.
MJF is great and that was still filler. That was like what you do to send the crowd home happy after the TV cameras go off (minus him beating up the home town bros)
I was actually impressed by Pillman. He doesn’t get much mic time on the big shows and he did a good job.
It just seemed out of place for TV, like why do I, on my couch in Florida, care if MJF shits on Cincinnati. Skyline is shit
Lmao what an awful promo that was...set up Sting v Tully match? And Darby new feud is with top guy Spears.... Lol double pass
Hot take alert- I hate that Adam Cole is in a group with these goofs. Was hoping he would be more serious. And he brings up Brit Baker, so they aren't going to keep them completely separate it seems
Time management kind of ass tonight cramming too much. Mox/suzuki should not be a 10 minute match with a commercial in the middle...
Show was kind of sloppy and all over the place tonight. They tried to cram way too much in to two hours. Cole talking about members of the Elite and totally ignoring Gallows and Anderson, lol. Also, I agree with DetroitNole , Cole needs to get away from these fuckheads ASAP.
I thought that was odd. Also why would Adam be worried about Tony? He’s supposed to be Adam Cole. Not some beta worried about Tony Schiavone stealing his girl.
I mean they are making Adam Cole into another guy in the company instead of one of the greatest in the world. He is in a group where he isn't the leader and the group does goofy shit all the time. His debut he is immediately one upped by Bryan debut, now on his first night he takes a back seat to Omega and gets chased from the ring by a bunch of mid card faces. AEW has killed it with Punk, and Bryan seems to be placed directly in the main event which is cool. But Adam Cole is my favorite wrestler and I think he is one of if not the best in the world right now and I don't like how his run has started. I guess he is the youngest and they can give him time to move up the card, but I dont like how it has started with him. Wonder who they have him wrestling next week, I hope his feuds are seperate from the elite going forward instead of being another Omega sidekick
what goofy stuff does the elite do? They just had an insane cage match and a really hard hitting world title match last night? That no rope exploding barbed wire match sure was zany.
Im not talking about their matches, I'm talking about the way they present themselves on TV. They have a dude wearing a face shield who walks around spraying shit and dabs in the ring and dances in matches. Look at the way the Bucks dress. Omega and Callis are doing goofy shit a lot "69 me Donn". Gallows and Anderson are pointless. I know a lot of people love them but I think I'm far from the only one who is sick of that act. I can't take them seriously I'm ok with some comedy in wrestling, but not at the top of the card for me. And that may just be personal preference. AEW is giving me enough good stuff that it still makes the show more than worth my while to watch. Not everything is going to be for everyone
Yall need to watch BTE to better appreciate Cole's return...Or just accept that some if this just isn't going to work for you. Sucks that Suzuki got busted open and the match had to end early. They're planting seeds for the Arthur Ashe show in two weeks. That was the point of the MJF segment. Elite vs Bryan/Jurassic Express/Christian/Kaz is going to be bananas. Hopefully it'll be WARGAMES
they're a smarmy heel faction, stop being so pretentious. Or don't. It's your fandom; like and hate whatever you want. They're goofy as shit. They did a fucking séance to resurrect Adam Cole last week. They're not your daddy's pro wrestlers. They're modern and unserious until the bell rings. Sorry you don't like it.
I think people are really sleeping on the long con that the elite turns on Omega and Cole becomes the leader. It’s only a matter of time imo.
Cutler is the GOAT comedy stooge. But the Elite are pretty serious in the ring. Kenny has always been kinda over the top campy anime villain type. Also maybe the Good Bros are going to get phased out back to Impact where they belong. They were never part of the original elite.
I was thinking eventually one would turn on the other. Not going to be able to hold both of them out of the singles main event picture for long.
Last night has me really hoping we get a Rampage headlined by Dante Martin vs Malachi Black. Watching those two guys wrestle almost back to back just has me super excited at the idea of them having a singles match.
We're complaining about Adam Cole's placement based on 1 rushed segment during a packed and poorly paced show?
Honestly if they cut the Good Bros and Cutler out and were a group of just Omega, Bucks and Cole I think it would be a lot better. I just get late nwo vibes when 10 guys strut down to the ring and see guys who aren't at main event level clowning around during the segments. Or just throw top guy Spears in the group, not sure how you can claim to be elite without him
I do think the good brothers need to be phased out. I get it that they are the guys that run interference but you could have Cole do that now.
How am I supposed to hate MJF when he's shitting on Cincinnati, he's absolutely right about everything he's saying. Cincinnati is awful.
Cole running interference waters him down. The Good Brothers serve a needed purpose on screen: They're stooges, they're muscle, they're bodies that get in between the babyface and the core trio (now quartet), and they make the Elite the largest stable on the show with gold from another company around their waist. From a booking standpoint they're needed because they can eat the pins in big multi-man matches. And behind the scenes they work because they're all best friends and do funny shit on the BTE show. I don't see them ever getting phased out. The only reason they're not technically part of the AEW roster is because Tony Khan didn't want to sign them after they re-upped with WWE and treated AEW like a fallback option. It's the Bucks and Kenny that are responsible for their being around and I see no reason for that to change until the whole faction splinters.
I'm guessing they are capitalizing on her jump and the max buzz she will ever have throwing her in this feud right away. Britt probably will and definitely should beat her and move on. Gives them some time to build up someone else to threaten her. Think ruby eventually settles down in the mid card for them
WWE officially signed Gable Steveson. He will still wrestle at Minnesota this year, before reporting to developmental. This is a guy that Vince can legitimately make a star, but I’m not sure Vince has that ability any longer. I bet they fast track the kid so they can get him a match with Brock in 2-3 years.
Definitely has the abilities and look to be a major player but he will probably be doing some goofy bullshit before too long. but that’s awesome for him. Crazy to see someone signed and still wrestling in college.
If this was REALLY the Attitude Era, the sister would turn on him at their Arthur Ashe match and reveal MJF was the father all along. The real missing ingredient of the AE was the Maury Povich/Jerry Springer style plot twists in the feuds.
