Let me preface this by saying I love Sami Zayn. He's been great at everything ever since he started in NXT. I would love to see him in a program one day that ends with him winning the title in a Mick Foley-like moment. But his story with The Bloodline was never about winning the title. It started out self serving for influence and morphed into KO fighting for his soul. This is going to turn into a tag title program, which could be awesome and elevate those titles. And could also contribute to Roman losing to Cody. Again, there's a lot of room for great story telling here that doesn't have anything to do with Sami winning the WWE title at mania or even being in the match (both of which I think would be extremely lazy booking).
Why would they be wondering? Because he walked out on the Bloodline and refused to hit Sami. Which side is he on right now, at this moment dumbass? Nobody knows, which is my point. And I just realized you think you got me because I was talking about Jey while you were talking about Jimmy. Good one! I forgot about the DUI. All of them. That he didn’t even get a slap on the wrist for.
spot on… and I think Cody and Roman could do a very nice storyline surrounded about family history and Roman accomplishing everything Cody came back for. Wrestling has more than one royal family.
Jimmy didn’t walk out… Jay did Jimmy is married to Naomi and has the dui issues. Jay is the one who had the original program with Roman that kicked all this bloodline stuff off.
Yep, you could do all that. KO and Sami beat the Usos for the titles and then take out Solo in the main event, paving the way for a Cody win. You pretty much get all the pops in that scenario.
I agree with all of this, but I’m telling you, the crowd will turn on Cody if Sami doesn’t get a title match vs Roman at Mania. That pop Sami got last night was the loudest pop at a WWE event in years.
Just shut the fuck up. You’re a troll who brings very little to this thread. All of your posts are argumentative with very little substance.
The crowd is going to eat up a Sami and KO tag team. It gets over everywhere they go when they get the chance to cook.
agree to disagree. There's a path to scratch that itch at EC and then make everyone happy at WM. This will be the first HHH booked WM. He has a pretty good track record of paying things off and not purposely shitting on the fans.
This men's tag match is pretty good. It was the one match on the card I wanted to see. Someone needs to put a muzzle on this Thea girl
They have a student section? This gimmick isn’t going anywhere but it’s goofy enough for full sail or wherever they shoot now.
Can't believe they just put the tag belts on fucking Gallus. They look like wrestlers that would job out in five minutes or less on AEW Dark
I was surprised to see the crowd go nuts and chants CHASE U out… it seems like a gimmick the iwc would fall for
yeah truly shocking that they put the titles on the same guys who held the UK Tag titles for nearly 500 days. Those guys must be total shit
same, thought it’d just be a Full Sail thing that ppl in NC didn’t know much about but they chanted the spell out during the stomps and everything
Only thing he’s missing is more bulk and better ring gear, otherwise he’s a hell of a prospect. I think he has the best chance of succeeding on the main roster of all their top guys. Bron is an awesome athlete and specimen but he's a little charisma deficient, he needs a Heyman Melo has it all but he's just so damn short.
Bron just doesn’t do anything for me. Nice show… nothing special. I’ll catch the next PLE but that show isn’t getting me to tune in weekly
I liked the opener and everything else was kinda mid. Hell the main event was probably the worst match of the night. Agree on Bron. He doesn't have that IT factor, in my opinion. If he wasn't a Steiner he wouldn't have gotten the push like he has. Crowd was leaving during his celebration lol.
He's potentially right, though - the WWE crowds tend to turn on you reeeeeeal quick. When/if it becomes clear Sami's not getting a title match at WM, Cody might find his work cut out for him staying in their good books. And through no fault of his own. But then, I'm looking at this through the prism of my assumption Sami & KO are taking on the Usos at WM. A lot can happen in 2 months.
I think it should be obvious at this point that Sami isn’t getting a title shot at WM after getting one at EC. What incentive is there to replaying the EC main event at WM? Let’s say they do what some people have said and they split the titles, making Roman have to defend one on each night at WM. Then that cheapens the potential win for Cody/Sami at night 2 because they get Roman off a back to back where he’s not going to be 100%, or it makes Cody/Sami look weak for not being able to beat Roman on a back to back when he’s not at 100% I’d like to think that this far into HHH’s tenure as booker that things can be done a bit more logically than something a geriatric with the maturity and attention span of a 12-year-old with ADHD would do. If the people haven’t figured that out by now then they are just stupid.
Yeah, but wrestling smarks can be very stubborn when they don't get their way. I hoping Cody does get his moment in the sun, but I'm just a bit anxious for him and how this might play out.
Bunch of pretzel makers in here. The only thing I said was the crowd will turn on Cody if Roman beats Sami at EC and they move on. I guess we’ll see.
Bron vs. Melo so the “money” match for the Mania weekend PLE though. Carmelo probably winning the title then. Would be better for him to win it off Bron than Waller
Took my kids to the WWE Live event in Columbus GA last night. Watched a lot of wrestling in the 80’s-early 2000’s but just kinda stopped watching so I only knew a few of the wrestlers last night. My uneducated observations are Braun Strowman is a fucking beast and his tag team match was really good. Seeing Charlotte Flair was a trip I wasn’t expecting that she had a triple threat match I think it’s called and was slamming bitches. Bray Wyatt wrestled someone in a pitch black match and that was by far the highlight of the night. His entrance is badass my kids lost their damn minds when he came out. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins was the main event and it was fucking terrible. No slams and a bunch of rolling around.
How was the pop for Cody? They’re playing with fire putting him against Seth, who is also now a baby face.
Oh it was lit when he came out and after he won he talked to the crowd for a few minutes and got everyone hyped. Thought it was cool he is American Nightmare kinda as a nod to his dad. All our kids said they were glad he won because his entrance music was banging.
Oh and I had no idea who Bianca Belair was until last night but she is insanely athletic. Some of the flips she did off the ropes had me
I think the segment of the WWE audience that would boo Cody because they prefer Sami is a lot smaller than the percentage that took over multiple RAWs on the road to Wrestlemania 30. Those fans moved to AEW or quit watching altogether.
There will still be some grumbling but not enough to force plans to change. That said, I think there's money in doing a "Roman loses everything" story. Losing the Universal title to Sami and, the next night, losing the world title to Cody. Spin that off to a spring and summer program where the whole Bloodline implodes and fights among themselves and you've got Roman preoccupied for a while giving the titles some new storyline. Won't happen I know, just what I would do
I could see there potentially being an issue at Elimination Chamber because Canadian crowds are the type to do their own thing (it's not like Hogan was ever positioned to be the good guy in the match vs Rock at WM18) but not week to week here in the US feel like the best thing for all parties is Cody not being booked for that PPV at all in the first place, do an injury angle or something
