And in 30 million less homes than Fox. I’m just saying it’s a stupid victory lap in the grand scheme of things.
They allowing this stuff in the E now? Wow. Times have really changed. Now let KO use the package piledriver
Your favorite phrase is carnies going to carny. That goes for all wrestlers not just the ones you don’t like. Had the money been doubled he’d be there.
Not always the case. Dragon Lee, for example, turned down more money from AEW to go the NXT -> WWE route
I like to listen to Trips pressers because you can read between the lines... Obviously he made the comment about Jade and her lack of being trained properly by AEW He also made a comment about talent who want to come to WWE to be well rounded and that aren't stuck in doing what they do and only that... The question was about Giulia and if WWE was going to sign her. But I took the comment as him speaking about Will. And came away thinking Will likes what he does and how he does it and AEW was going to allow him to do that. Where in WWE he would have to learn to work differently, cut promo's differently and be well... more professional and less Will.
I like to listen to the getting over pod and the host was breaking down the CM Punk promo and pointed out something I didn't notice and really wasn't discussed in here so I thought I bring it up. He basically felt like Punk was out there to do a gaslighting promo to the fans. The "I'm home and happy to be back" was just bullshit for his eventual heel turn in setting up the storyline with Seth. He mentioned how everything on mic felt one way and at the end when the camera zoomed in and off mic he said "I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to make money" almost felt like that's his true character. Someone who doesn't really give a fuck about the fans but is telling them he is. Idk I was a different viewpoint and will be interesting how that gets developed. We have seen under Trips a lot more slow burn character development and seeds planted for down the road, right now they are doing it with Drew. Its not just overnight classic wrestling heel turn. You're seeing his turn and mindset change over weeks. You felt his comments to Seth prior to crown jewel were genuine and authentic... fast forward more hardship, more frustrations about guys he's cleaning beat getting title matches over him and you could see that essentially the same promo he cut weeks ago that felt real definitely felt forced and felt like a "heel" pretending to get on the good side of Seth but really not having the same respect for Seth.
I found the comment about Jade funny because she was allegedly primarily being trained by Cody, Regal, Dustin Rhodes, and Danielson once or twice a week and she's only at the PC once or twice a week now. Not sure who else took over training after Cody and Regal though. I'm sure QT was involved too since he runs the Nightmare Factory with Cody and Glacier. Probably Billy Gunn too. She needed more matches, and longer matches, and to work against higher quality talent. Only training with wrestling coaches 1-2 times a week is really going to lengthen the development process no matter who is doing the training though. I know she's got other shit going on so she can't make wrestling her full-time job like the other talent in the PC have to, but she really should be down there more than 1-2 times a week.
How do you know she's only there twice a week? Dave tell ya Either way we all saw she was green and not improving in AEW... That she was going to need till at minimum the Rumble before most thought we see he in ring... I'm guessing that's still the timeline or someone time prior to Mania
Basically what everyone wanted out of his AEW run after like his second promo. We'll see if they actually pull the trigger on it because there is much more gas in the tank for a Punk heel run than as a babyface.
As a husband... probably not sending THIS photo out... probably picking another... I'm sure some will get enjoyment out of it...
Hire Cezar Bononi as a S&C coach. Ethan Page always been on the more muscular side but not like that and not that lean. I feel like Ethan needs more opportunities in AEW. Have felt like that for a long time. And he’s a guy that really wants to work backstage when he’s done in the ring. So you can groom him along the way to move into that role.
The sheets are saying TNT/TBS is in on Raw bidding? Taking it with a grain of salt of course. That would be an epic TK meltdown, but ultimatley a bad thing for wrestling. Nick Khan is a shark though, hope TK is prepared for it.
