I'm not sure, but I feel like those should be a once every couple years type match. Instead, they do one about every 3-4 months.
So they skip the Wyatt Sicks angle and kill the feud on Monday by simply stating "they've moved to smackdown". They tease something tonight on their socials and now SD looks like it's going to end with them not appearing. Seems the plug has been fully pulled on them
If a guy wants to have a Texas Death match for his retirement match then I’ll allow it. Tomorrow’s match will be the 8th Texas Death match in AEW history. https://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=...ng=&minRating=&maxRating=&minVotes=&maxVotes=
Smackdown felt very much like a old Vince episode where the bulk of it was just splashed together and kind of just meh. You can tell that the bulk of the attention is on RAW right now and all the A storylines are on that show outside of Cody.
In a rarity, Collision was better than Dynamite this week. At least in my opinion. But I also didn’t particularly like Dynamite this week either, actually tied for my second lowest rated Dynamite on Cagematch.
Well Allie Katch broke her leg on a suicide dive at the GCW Hammerstein show and her leg was bent in a direction it very much is not supposed to bend. And Amazing Red was just announced as the first member of the 2025 Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame!
PCO went into business for himself at the GCW show by trying to destroy a TNA title and cutting an anti-TNA promo before they cut him off, wow.
Jordynn Grace is done with TNA after last night and is headed to the WWE Jordan Alexander quit TNA last night, which is a work in the sense they are doing it as part of the story to write him out because he’s leaving when his contract expires in February. His destination is unknown but I would guess WWE because he said a while back he was retiring from the indies. WWE is in talks to sign Pro Wrestling NOAH’s El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.
That AEW locker room is toxic as fuck still... Just a coincident that everyone started hating her the moment her and Cole went on the rocks. She probably needs a run in NXT before going on main roster.
From what I've seen of Britt, she can't hang on the WWE main roster week to week. But I'm sure a top vet could get her through a match.
She stood out initially with actually having a character, but I was pretty done with her the second she no sold a bump onto thumbtacks. Also, that one match where she immediately walked backstage and asked if Metlzer gave it 5 stars was the most cringe thing I have ever seen in wrestling (fully aware of that statement).
I think she paused practicing. Wonder if her malpractice insurance company saw that AEW reality show where she had a hardcore match, took the red eye home, and was in the office the next morning.
She’s been hated for years. You forget all the stuff with Thunder Rosa from like four years ago? Then there’s the blowup with MJF/Alicia Atout that got her suspended and messed up the program Mercedes. That happened before the breakup with Adam Cole. She had heat with Mariah May not long after she had her in-ring debut because May used the slingblade move. I don’t know any of the details but she apparently has heat with Jamie Hayer and Rebel (their mananger when they were all together if you forgot) too as well.
But for the other side of the story, Bryan Alvarez saying it’s blown out of proportion. “After speaking with multiple people within AEW, the Britt Baker stories circulating online today appear to be blown way out of proportion,” Alvarez wrote. “While she’s not currently being used, and there don’t seem to be any immediate plans for her, there’s no truth to the idea that she’s finished with the company.”
Britt has near zero leverage at this point. This ain’t the shitty women’s roster of yesteryear when Britt was at her peak. This roster has tons of talent, and it’s more than just wrestlers who can’t do anything but put on banger matches. These are some good to great, well rounded wrestlers. And the ones who aren’t all that good on the mic are way ahead of her in terms of in-ring skills. If Britt could be less of a headache, have more constructive promos, and put the work to get better in the ring like virtually everyone else in that division has, then she could be a real asset to AEW as you can’t teach charisma like Britt has. But if she wants to be a headache, wants to shit all over her opponents in promos, and wants to put on shitty matches, there’s numerous other women on the roster who will gladly accept the opportunity and not screw around. Perhaps her health is holding her back from improving in-ring, she has gone through some pretty serious stuff, so it’s entirely possible. Want to use WWE as leverage? Good luck with that with the roster they have between main roster and NXT.
She did indeed. I’m sure the dental practice wasn’t heartbroken over it. She had to stop taking new patients because fans would just shop up for new patient appointments to meet her then never go back.
Definitely feeling strongly that Cody should drop the belt to KO at the Rumble. Just feels there's more interesting Mania matches for that belt with KO holding it.
KO isn’t main eventing Wrestlemania in a 1 v. 1. Babyface Cody is still tops over him when it comes to merch.
I do wonder what the title drop looks like. Do they have him drop it in a gimmick match like a ladder match to keep him "strong" and have him briefly chase and win back? Long term, I'd like to see the championship be treated like the ring of power and just slowly corrupt him to turning into Homelander.
Cody is like John Cena (minus the superpowers) where he’s the perfect media face for the company. Always polished but still comes across as caring and humble. Roman is a great face of the company but being a kayfabe heel (that doesn’t think anyone is on his level) hindered his media appearances. Any heel turn for Cody is probably a year away at most. Of course I can be wrong and he loses to KO.
No I agree, but I think WWE/Haitch is purposely trying to move away from just 1 guy being the ambassador for the brand to avoid the Cena situation where you can't turn him heel. It's why so many guys do event appearances representing the company. But like you said, he's too much of a merch mover and getting too positive a reaction to turn any time soon.
this guy has really leveled up over the last year, improved his physique and raised his stock for whatever his next run will be. No clue what his old partner is up to, must still be injured or something
He's really getting pissed at the disrespect that these wrestlers are giving him about that... and I don't blame him. He's got the best looking title in the business right now.
Hey guys with need 3 more people to sign up for the Rumble. If we can fill before the weekend I will pull names during Saturday Night Main Event... Let's get this filled so my wife can work on my balls.... She only focuses on them once a year... I need it.
Back to the Cody talk... he needs to drop the title at Mania. If that's Randy, Cena, Punk but it's time he goes back into the chase mode.
So a female wrestler got severely hurt in an intergender match in GCW. That could get some traction outside the wrestling bubble.
And it happened because of stupidity by the wrestler and GCW. They put the ringside barricade like three feet from the ring. When Allie Katch did a suicide dive, which there wasn't any safe space to do it so it never should have been done to begin with, she didn't land correctly, because of that whole not enough space to do it safely thing, and destroyed her leg.
