I saw clips... Edge kicks out of all the finishers and Christian taps in less than 1 minute of action. The main event scene of AEW looks like TNA at its downfall... washed former WWE stars
Its also a shame that main event was so terrible because it seemed like the IWC was loving the show for the most part...
We just had to get through the Cope/Mox feud. Putting Swerve back up on top of the card was worth it. Hopefully Cope goes back to trios or something. He never got pinned last night so I’m worried they try to squeeze some more juice out of that prune. Other than that the entire card was a banger top to bottom. High expectations and it over delivered. We’re about to go on a great run of guys in the main event scene. Swerve, Ospreay, Hangman, MJF, Okada, Fletcher, Takeshita, Brody King, Jay White, Joe, Hobbs, Ricochet. It’s an absurd amount of talent at the top now. I could see scenarios for all of those guys becoming champ. Roster is deep, they’re moving to better storylines (Storm/May, Ricochet/Swerve, Ospreay/Fletcher have delivered), and I think we’ll get away from the old WWE guys. They can’t keep up with this group anymore. Mox and Cope going back to WWE would be best for all parties.
Think this was worse because that was a malfunction and while it was embarrassing, this was just booked intentionally to be this bad.
They just have to get the belt off of Mox. They can’t wait for Darby (who I don’t think should be champ anyway)
Edge and Mox aren’t coming back. Money has to be really good at AEW for them. Was Swerve’s injury serious?
that's where actually trying with Collision (putting it on a better night, splitting the rosters) would do wonders for people like Hobbs, Brody King, Jay White. They could conceivably be the champion of Collision and come off like bigger stars because I don't really ever see those guys getting PPV main event spots really at any time in the future. Nobody thinks less of Gunther because he isn't in THE main event of the PPV because he's still the champion of his show and has credibility. Put Collision on Tuesday or Thursday and try and do something with it. The word on Edge was that when his contract was last up, WWE didn't really make him too great of an offer to stay. Moxley coming back for a Shield triple threat would do HUGE business but I don't think his ego would let him go back. This is a guy who's basically booked himself as unstoppable and ruined the main event scene for the last 6 months because he was embarrassed that some fry cook at a Wing Stop tapped him out at an amateur BJJ tournament I would imagine Swerve wins the belt at the next PPV and they go with Swerve vs Hangman again as the main event of the Texas All In stadium show thats been pretty sluggish with sales thus far
Also thought the hurt business looked amazing last night. Wonder if the Bucks are going to come back to feud with them?
Moxley in WWE would be money, not only with a shield run but I would imagine with a proper creative team in place he would be in better storylines vs his original non Shield run and AEW stuff. I don't think WWE wants to bring Edge back outside of being a special attraction. He basically said he wanted to be "full time" and WWE had zero interest in doing that. Probably because he didn't put over a single talent.
Well we don't want them either. Sounds like they're destined for the IMPACT Zone. FYI, I've been down on AEW for the past six months or so. Lots of meh shows and uninteresting guys in the main. The "mid-card" is late 80s early 90s WWE good. Just a bunch of guys more talented waiting for their opportunity. With that said, that PPV was gangbusters last night with a ton of interesting ways to move forward.
Netflix has made it pretty clear they are going to get their shit in. I guess that's what 5 bill gets you.
I guess I haven't paid attention to the build up, Punk v Rollins in a steel cage tonight? That's a huge fucking match to put on Raw
WWE did more in one segment tonight to set up the RAW women’s title than they have the Smackdown title over the last month.
Iyo segment was fantastic. Rhea's and Bianca's reaction to getting slapped like that sold it even more.
Very much looking forward to the cody cena segment next week on Raw. I saw it's going to be streamed live on Netflix at 3pm since its in Brussels.
- Have Bianca win the title, help Naomi win and reveal it was Bianca all along. - Or, have Naomi win MITB and cash in on Bianca.
Liv is still covered in black and blue bruises that she has to cover her arms. Last night on RAW her arms looked terrible. She took a beating in that elimination chamber. She's probably had the best 2024 in the sport on the female side. She's come a long way on the mic and in ring.
