I'm trying to figure out how Alexa is going to fit back into the picture/a storyline without it being the Wyatts.
They should have brought her back as the Goddess. She was away long enough it could have worked fine. Instead she showed back up with that doll....
I would be happy for her, but I'm pretty skeptical that Liv Morgan is going to become a huge Hollywood star.
Wyatt’s will never work because they always lose. Their faction has potential and super natural doesn’t work when they lose every fued.
Also, does the dark sinister stuff really appeal to the 2025 wrestling fan? At least those in attendance. It seems like most are there now to have a good time and chant and sing and yeet and pay out the ass to do so.
before the bell rings, absolutely. I know you said 2025 but when they did the initial white rabbit teases and QR codes and other easter eggs for Bray Wyatt's return, one of the biggest rated quarter hours of the year for Smackdown was a random Braun Strowman match because people online were convinced they had cracked a code and Bray would be returning at a specific time on the specific episode of Smackdown
I think Bray would have probably done some really cool stuff with the much upgraded production team WWE is using nowadays.
I'm in the middle in this debate. I think creepy, scary, spooky stuff can be done well in wwe. I think Bray could have pulled it off if booked better (well certain versions of Bray). Swampy cult leader Bray was awesome. I was on board with the Fiend, especially if they kept that to Bray darkside, and it only came out in certain times and he wasn't some unbeatable superhuman, just darker and more violent. Wyatt 6 however I think have been pretty shit all along and have no faith in it being pulled off. Certainly doesn't help they've never explained the howdy character, who I think is terrible in every way (looks ridiculous, has a stupid name, no explanation of who or what he is). Also doesn't help their run really had nothing to do with their qr code buildup or debut. None of the talent are good enough to be top guys in the group. I just don't see any way this is successful, even with better booking. I'm a Bray fan, so I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think the more this sinks, it only hurts Bray legacy instead of remembering it
WWE still has kids watching so there is always an audience for the supernatural stuff. When I was 10, I legit asked my friend that went to a WWE show if it got colder in the arena when Undertaker came out like the announcers always said (this was in the grey/purple glove era). Every time the Wyatt 6 comes out, my son covers his eyes and ears during the entrance.
I think they got a much better shot of doing something "spooky" with Malakai than the wyatts. I'm not a fan of Nikki Cross, I think you may be able to get a good tag team out of their members, but I don't see anyone above a mid card title feud. No one is good enough to constantly put over as a solo act, and if they aren't constantly put over people are going to complain and say they aren't booked well
Saw some clips of Roman Reigns on Stephanie's ESPN+ show and Sami being on the yacht with the rest of the Bloodline is sending me.
I watched the Bloodline ep on Steph show. It’s a fun watch but most of these episodes are puff pieces that are almost intended for moms who kids like wrestling lol
I agree and I think AEW not having a house show run probably is why you see spots like this on its TV. I see why people get upset given they are the “serous pro wrestling brand”
Just caught Hangman/Fletcher and that was predictably a banger. Hangman/Ospreay at DoN will be a MOTY contender.
Surprise the dirtsheets exaggerated a report. Liv Morgan got cast in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo Not sure how that puts her on "it girl" track in Hollywood. I'm no movie buff, but looking at the cast and title, doesn't seem like that's a blockbuster movie
good for her, but those reports yesterday were bordering on parody. they were acting like she was starring the next Scorsese movie.
looks like there’s speculation that Shotzi and Theory aren’t getting their contracts renewed. Maybe more potentially. Will be hilarious seeing the internet do their usual act that someone getting released is akin to a war crime, especially considering those two were some of the most dumped on wrestlers by the neckbeard crowd of anybody in the biz
Theory being vinces project definitely hurt him. I think he has something there. Shotzi, I never really got it with her
definitely parallels with him and Drew where they both got called up very young and given the chosen one gimmick and then floundered after the Vince co sign ended. Lot of more opportunities on the indies though back when Drew was fired than now. Also don’t think Theory can put 30 lbs of muscle on like Drew did or else he may not be able to touch his hands together
He comes off as a person playing the character of a wrestler. He definitely needs to go on the indies, Japan and AEW to develop before making a return
Sounds like Liv is only going to be filming for a month or so, and it's not even long enough for the wwe to strip the titles from her and Raquel
He was the main star of this high school gym a few miles away from me. 100 people max. I think Gangrel runs it. Been a couple times and it’s a tough scene. These people come out from under rocks. Anyhow, excited to see Theory fighting the Ugly Ducklings in July. http://www.oscwonline.com/
One episode of something there is cool as a novelty but doing 3 Dynamites there is excessive. That place only holds like 2000 people, cmon.
I am a long time subscriber to the Mone Mag. https://mercedesmone.com/monemag/ I have no idea who actually writes this. Maybe the lady writer she brought with her from WWE. She weirdly goes in and out of kayfabe and comes off as one of the most vapid people on earth. I sympathize with the women wrestlers because of the weirdos they have to deal with. This seems to be actively courting the lowest of them. $100 bucks a month for an AI chat bot. Kind of disgusting for the highest paid women’s wrestler (she will remind you of that in the Mone Mag).
was pretty funny seeing Sean Ross Sapp yesterday playing damage control as usual talking about Sasha not having creative control in AEW despite the fact they literally hired her own personal writer he did the same thing when everybody was making fun of Edge for never jobbing and decided that was the perfect time to run a "Hey guys, Vince was the one who picked Edge to go over Finn at WM 39!" article 2 years after the fact
Zelina Vega laid the WWE Women's United States Championship on her dad's memorial. 🥺🥺🥺— Fightful Wrestling (@fightful.com) 2025-05-02T18:26:23.963Z
She’s certainly come a long way though from being serenaded with “Sasha is ratchet” from the NXT house circuit a decade ago.
Weren't Gigi and Cora considered solid prospects at some point down in NXT? I've mostly got no time for nxt now
I think both blew their ACL since then. Cora was never athletically gifted before that to begin with. Gigi underwhelmed the one match they had Toxic Attraction come up for the main roster. Her act works better off national TV bc it’s all about pushing the envelope
My favorite part about the yearly releases is to see how many people can get really upset over low to mid card talent being let go. Most of them can't cut it, and the ones who can get an opportunity to prove it elsewhere and wwe has shown they'll take people back (except maybe midcardona, who apparently can't even beg his way back in the door)
the same people who will whine about how talent are stuck in catering/benched too. Imagine if wrestling fans saw how short an NFL career is and how often people get cut there. That of course would require wrestling fans to actually have additional interests in life.
And it’s really not even necessarily being cut, these types of talent are on 1-3 year (3-year at the max) type contracts and it’s really WWE saying we’re not re-signing them as the end of their contracts approach. Very rarely does someone get cut with like 12+ months on their contract.
