Even though it's more about politics than ratings, it looks like I need to bump my evergreen post from 3 years ago. I'll add the caveat that I will accept NSFW content from other current/former wrestlers.
Wrestling has always had a fandom that takes it way too seriously. Probably because, for 90% of its existence, it's been a niche market that's easily mocked by non-fans, which gives the diehard fans a major complex about it, and they tend to lash out by attacking anything they perceive might be mocked by normies, hence the attacks on anything overtly "silly" (and even then, the things that are silly that they like are handwaved and ignored). It's all subjective tribalism rooted in a desperate attempt not to appear uncool for liking something that is, inherently, uncool.
I think we have different ideas of what constitutes the die-hard fan, because I would argue the most die-hard fans are the ones who not only don't have a complex about that. If anything, they've doubled down in the opposite direction. They pride themselves on being "sickos", they mock people that don't watch as much wrestling, and for not knowing obscure Japanese or indie wrestlers. They push back on any idea that their favorite show should be more accessible to new fans or casual viewers. You think people like Shawn are motivated by not wanting to appear uncool? If anything those people are hell bent on making sure wrestling is not only extremely uncool, but inaccessible to normal people entirely this board is kind of an anomaly in the online wrestling space in that it’s mostly well to do married guys with families who watch semi casually, that’s why it’s baffling when some here want this thread to mirror Reddit or a Drainmaker timeline

Smackdown can’t move back to two hours quick enough. The crowd in Ohio fucking sucked. The Cena stuff has extreme levels of awesome and awful and sometimes in the same appearance. Tonight was a clear example of awesome promo with awful ending to the segment that was the exact cookie cutter ending they did a couple weeks ago. Cena as champ on extremely limited dates has been a bad call. Hopefully with his dates backloaded towards the end of 2025 his matches have better builds. Because this Orton one left a shit ton on the bone. Smackdown not having a full time champion, not having Cody, not having Roman… the talent level feels like a show that’s developing talent. RAW and Smackdown don’t feel like they are being led by the same company tbqh.

Man wyatt sicks fans are kind of nuts. They have been out for months, and alexa teams up with zelina and then chats with Charlotte and everyone is trying to figure out how that relates to wyatt sicks. People even speculating Charlotte is joining the sicks.... like wwe is going to throw their top women's star (in their mind) in with a group they won't even book
I took Alexa showing up on Smackdown as the end of the Wyatt Sicks. Involving her with Charlotte could be a way to "transform" Alexa back into a "regular" person. But I'm not going to lie, I can see a world where you take Charlotte on a crazy character run where the fans "hating her" turns into a dark side of Charlotte. It takes her out of the title pictures, it gives her a massive re-fresh of character and it gives the Wyatt Sicks a center piece. I much prefer to see that story vs the stale presentation of Charlotte. Now... I wouldn't bet a dollar on the Wyatt Sicks stuff happening but I wouldn't hate it. Most likely Alexa and Charlotte form a tag team and we see both in that scene for a bit.

What are we even talking about. Most of Cena’s best matches were multiple person or stipulation matches. He’s never put on wrestling classics. It’s why the line “you can’t wrestle” actually works. That match was entertaining as hell who gives a shit if it was an exact rip off of 90% of the attitude era main event matches.
