The AEW fanboys where on the knees for Sammy a few months ago. He’s a pillar of the company. They jumped ship with the quickness.
I don’t know of a list, the Twitter account I post does a nice job of piecing the clues together and going in depth about them on his podcast. I believe some of the clues have quotes from promos he’s cut in FCW/NXT along with some other stuff from main roster. I believe the number 1911 was on one message and that’s 19/11 those where the numbers on Brays hat in the fire fly fun house in a promo he cut with Alexa. It’s a lot more than the next location for a new clue.
Theory can't hold a candle to Sammy in the ring, but Sammy is an epic shithead. Although, I don't think Theory is too far from his character either.
AEW's audience is dominated by people that read Twitter/Socials and know a lot of the backstage on goings. The audience will eventually grow tired of the lame real drama if it keeps up.
I'm not an AEW hater nor am I a fan boy for them. My honest opinion of the company is its extremely poorly run and TK is over his head. He had EVP in charge who acted like children, he doesn't have anyone in charge keeping shit in line, he doesn't discipline people until it gets too far along and the damage is done already. He also is over his head booking the show too. Acts get over and then no direction with them afterwards. Also seems to have an identity crisis if he wants to grow the product or if he wants to cater to the fans they already have. Week to week their product is usually more entertaining and to their fan base their matches are still good, just a lot of stuff distracting the company that someone in charge could have handled long before it got here
It wouldn’t surprise me if this Sammy/Andrade thing was a work to write Andrade off TV for a bit for publicly admitting this week he was using Charlotte to help HHH contract tamper.
TK can book (except for women), but he never thought about that there's petty drama forever in this business. He has Regal under contract, just give him the power TK. Regal holds as much respect in the modern era as anyone outside of maybe Taker.
He has Regal, he has JR who did talent relations forever in WWE. This is speculation but I don't think a certain group of EVP are interested in listening to those guys because their buddy the Cowboy has said they've done fine on their own and just need to keep doing things their own way. So not sure some of those guys have the proper respect for the legends there. Think that's part of the inherent problem with making active talent in management positions.
I feel that Tazz would also be good in that department if he wanted. On another note, that Penelope Ford pin was nice...
"Even the senators are inside trading our stock!" Swerve is absolutely going to be a top 3 heel in AEW.
I was impressed with Bowens on the mic. He has gotten very little opportunity to do much mic work and he killed it for a fairly extended amount of time.
What's the benefit if it is a work? A match you've already advertised is canceled? And anyone who doesn't follow Sammy on Twitter who watches the show will have no clue why. Timing wise so soon after their other backstage issues a work fight and suspension is way too soon. It also didn't get Sammy heel reactions, crowd was DEAD for him winning tonight so it killed your main event. Bad booking if it's a work
Rush sold that buckshot lariat incredibly Mox and Hangman can absolutely deliver an awesome ring psychology match.
Garcia certainly has room to improve on the mic, but he's just 24 y/o and an absolute dynamo in the ring. A guy who'll compete in some of the best matches in the world in the next 10 years type ability.
Wish that Jericho would take the cross necklace off on TV, I want to forget that he's a bible thumping insurrectionist piece of shit in real life.
and those matches won't draw a dime. Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia bookended Dynamite tonight while Ricky Starks was stuck in catering. Absolute madness. Perhaps having the 3 year anniversary show in what looked like an upscale high school gym should've taught Tony Khan something
Wasn't his match already set up to write him off TV? I don't get how canceling that match without telling your audience why, have rumors of more backstage drama and fights just to write someone off TV would be beneficial.
Well when someone allegedly shoot assaults someone else forcing you to send him home, things kind of have to change.
If Andrade is doing all this stuff to try to get fired so he can go back to the E, then TK should just pay him to sit at home for the rest of his contract. Also, fire Sammy still. But the finish to the main event makes at least a little sense now if Sammy didn't throw any punches. Still think it's wrong to put him in that spot though because he's not completely absolved here given his Twitter antics that really escalated things.
BTW I thought Dynamite was pretty good last night. Now you can all back to being whiny fanboy bitches. Jesus
I know this is an extremely unpopular opinion right now but feel the need to share since the guy is hated by 99% of people. I took my daughter to the first Battle of the Belts in Charlotte which was a complete bust of a show compared to what was initially advertised. At least at this point everyone knows it is going to suck but I was expecting Clash of the Champions when tickets went on sale. The only highlight of the night was that Sammy came back out late after show was over (they taped Dark for 1+ after BOTB) and signed autographs/took pictures with every kid still there with the TNT Title. He was the only wrestler out there. Security was trying to make him leave as they wanted to close the arena down. The picture of him and my daughter is somewhere back in the thread so clearly I’m biased but wanted to share.
While I love Starks and think he is severally under utilized, not sure I understand the Yuta and Garcia hate. Those dudes are both really damn good in ring.
The handshake shit is getting on my nerves. First match with MJF and Yuta for a 3 or 4 minute thing after the match and then the very next match it was the same thing with Darby and Lethal. Stop it.
Maybe I am adding to the whiny fanboy bitch but my personal peeve is seeing people who endured some HORRIBLE WWE content for a decade come out puffy chest to shit on other products. Both have some bad stuff going on, but it’s still mostly good on both sides. Why isn’t that enough?
Let's just say, for example, WWE's and AEW's peak capability is a 10 out of 10 show. I When you're used to getting something at a 5 and below for regularly* 10+ years in WWE, the standard for excellence is set pretty low, so even bumping up to a 6-8+ regularly seems like massive improvement When you're used to getting 8+ regularly from the outset for two years in AEW and they start dropping to 6-8 and below regularly (outside of PPVs), it seems like the product is much worse because your standard for excellence is pretty high. So it's basically expectations management. It's much more difficult to consistently stay at a very high level than it is to improve from a low level. Though I will admit WWE is at a more consistent level than AEW is now. *regularly does not mean always
Nah, I'm with you - I don't get the hate myself. Maybe it's because I don't see anywhere near as much of the product as some other guys here, but I think the kid is an absolute gun. But if other guys don't agree, that's okay - it's wrestling after all. I used to like Reigns when it wasn't cool (2016/2017) - we like who we like.
It just makes no sense that those 2 charisma vacuums get weekly TV time (Dynamite time, not worthless Rampage time) + programs with top stars when guys with actual star potential like Sarks, Hobbs, and Ethan Page don't get a fraction of the constant exposure. I would include Miro in that latter group too but apparently Tony Khan is cool with paying him to do TV on another channel. Even Jade is hardly on Dynamite most weeks it feels like. They are like the wrestling version of Mac Jones to me. They are young but I've already seen enough to know they won't be anything worthwhile. Can't cut a promo, subpar look for both guys. "Really damn good in ring" isn't that distinguishable these days.
