Needs to be a mouthpiece for a monster heel, or at least a much better stable than what's in The Firm.
A great show. Good matches. Great main event. Good storyline advancement. Mic time for guys not wrestling. A nice mix of in ring and backstage promos. I am very satisfied.
The handshake hits different when it is the first indication that you still have feeling in your extremities.
ratings for the night Spoiler the dream match did not produce a dream result, still under 7 figures. Probably a better than usual main event rating though
I don’t think anyone but a lunatic disputes refs should hold ladders. Camera team should work to not get it in the shot though.
Refs holding onto ladders (off camera) during dangerous spots is totally reasonable, having 3 refs on camera helping someone win the match is stupid
Spoiler the main event was the highest rated quarter in the demo for the night, which is almost never the case
Spoiler well first off it's nowhere close to their competition, and it didn't even crack 1 million, let alone one of their better ratings historically, so yeah not sure what's "great" about a run of the mill number that is less than it was a full year ago across the board
Spoiler Just answer my question. By whose standard is it not good number? It sure doesn't seem to be the standard that matters, which is what WBD wants. Because they sure do seem to be pretty happy with AEW. No one else's standards matters unless the TV contract isn't renewed, rather that be WBD or AEW's decision. And to hold the standards up to a year ago in an industry - original cable programming - that is in rapid decline this year is generally foolish. Non-news original cable programming total viewership across the board was down 26% year over year in January, down 7% in February, and thus far down 19% in March. In those same time frames, Dynamite is at -7%, -8%, and -11%. Other than February, Dynamite has done considerably better at maintaining their audience relative to cable TV industry at large. Raw is even seeing diminishing returns compared to last year. They are down 2% for March compared to last year, and this is in the midst of their hottest time in years.
I don't understand why people like Punk post things like that, watch it go viral like they wanted, and then delete it like it never happened.
If I grew up in a house with TBS or USA network, I'd probably turn out to be an asshole, too. Because there's zero chance someone has never seen a Rocky movie if they have ever had access to one of those channels for even 3 months.
The first Rocky is legit great, same as First Blood. Everything after, for both Rocky and Rambo, is schlock, but those first ones are great
I just looked up schlock even though the context suggested it meant something bad because I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt in the hopes that you weren't a ridiculous person. But it appears that benefit was incorrect. Sad day.
I get Punk has to he frustrated the dirt sheets love to pretend to be best friends the guys he can't stand and report their version as facts, but blowing up at a PC and posting/deleting things makes you just as childish and unprofessional as them.
the press conference part was a lot worse because he was right next to his boss and indirectly dissed his own company a bunch, but I don't blame him for wanting to not let Dave/Jericho/Bucks be the ones setting the narrative for everything by posting shit on Instagram or wherever else
I'd have more respect for him if he responded, the posting and deleting is childish like updating your Twitter header to respond to things
They are schlock. The first movies (FB and Rocky) are good enough to contend for serious awards. The rest are popcorn films at best.
