Didn't you know that one of the most decisive things a wrestler can do is show up at an indie promotion that's owned by one of the announcers and has supported probably 75% of the roster as they were coming up the ranks. It's even worse when he doesn't take himself seriously and goes along with the vibe of the show. PWG is known for ridiculous spots like this in their big clusterfuck tag matches. The crowd going along with it is part of the bit. At it's core wrestling is dumb and fun, thinking it's anything more than that is silly.
I either want Punk to show back up right now or Tony to release him. I am tired of listening to all of these whiny asses about it, Punk included.
Isn’t PWG where Joey Ryan’s shtick was celebrated and encouraged? Lord knows what that VFW hall must’ve smelled like back in the day
Turned on raw for a bit. Becky can cut a promo. What happened to Trish' face? Baily cut a decent promo too
I haven’t watched much WWE lately but I’ve been going back and forth tonight and something I’ve noticed at least twice is they will have someone start their entrance, then go to break, then come back to a video package, then do a backstage interview, then they cut back to the ring and you’re like oh shit I forgot about that guy because he started his entrance like 20 min ago.
I complained about some of the Mania matches feeling cold… and is still think both ladies title matches are ice cold. But they sure did heat up a lot of the main card. And no question that tag match should headline mania night one
I read at some point they'll interact with the crowd when there isn't something going on the titantron or whatever. Still that's a lot of pressure on the wrestlers though.
Moxley's response to the Punk claim that he refused to lose to him was that he (Mox) wasn't under contract to AEW at the time and was essentially bending over backwards to do the angle with him in the first place. Honestly not a ton of insight and the whole thing was glossed over in a minute. He did go through all the places he's worked and how he's never seen so much drama in 1 place in his whole life (referring to AEW).
I read the transcript of that interview and I just came away thinking Moxley is a self-important loser Dude just wants to be a world famous backyard garbage wrestler
Was never a big Ambrose/Mox fan but the run he was on right after WWE where he got in shape and super motivated was really good. It's a bummer he couldn't sustain that energy/motivation.
I wish Mox would go back to WWE just to watch everyone running him down act like he’s the greatest draw in the world like has happened with Cody
you mean the same Cody that just headlined a house show in Denver that drew 9600 people? Someone being a draw isn’t an opinion, it’s a factually based statement. The Raw he headlined last night sold nearly 5000 more tickets than AEW did there a month ago in their Phoenix debut. If Dean Ambrose came back to WWE and moved a similar amount of tickets and merchandise he’d justifiably get the same praise
and I bet if mox came back it’d be the same thing. If Mox came back and was presented like Cody the WWE fans would do like they’re told.
Mox seems to be a weird guy. Like he thinks everyone only knows him him for his work he did on the Indy’s 10+ years ago and not because he got a huge push in WWE. Almost like he would be way bigger in his mind if he didn’t do all that dumb shit. I get wanting to move on and I am sure it can suck to work there sometimes, but he’s a top guy with a big contract because WWE presented him as such. Don’t want to use the M word, but if the shoe fits.
he’s been WWE champion, WWE IC champ 3x, WWE US champ 1x, WWE tag champion 2x, won money in the bank, AEW champion 3x, and IWGP US champion 2x but ya, he probably sucks and no one wants to see him
You said if he went back to WWE he’d be selling out shows and doing record gates like Cody has been doing. If that’s the case, why re-up for half full college basketball gyms instead? Seems like bad business sense
How likely are the chances that someone makes it from the NXT academy to being on TV? Not meaning like Raw/PPV, but even smaller weekday events. Guy I know got his first in ring match last weekend at the academy, so it seems like he may have a chance?
Cody's presentation fits the scale of WWE and his program right now is telling a great story. He's being presented as a legitimate threat to dethrone one of the longest title reigns in modern WWE history. That's why he is over. I'm not confident Mox wouldn't self-sabotage a similar program by trying to fit a thumbtack bump into a MizTV segment.
because he is happy? He seems to like to be able to do whatever he wants whenever he wants and has plenty of money. Might shock people to find out life isn’t about making as much money as you can before you die
Cody is only over because WWE fans do whatever they're told. as opposed to the sophisticated and discerning AEW fans.
Moxley isn't for me and hasn't been long before he even left WWE, but anyone who thinks he wouldn't get an insane pop and immediately be a main event player on par with or greater than Cody now if he went back to WWE is lying to themselves. Like, what are we doing here?
you gotta be shitting me, if they had Mox show up out of the crowd the raw after mania to challenge a heel champion Reigns, people would lose their shit. Mox was wildly successful in WWE, I don’t get why people are trying to pretend otherwise. He’s one of 27 people to be a triple crown champion
so Cody was a main eventer when he was in WWE last time right? When they told you don’t worry about this guy. The crowd was saying hey, give stardust a shot at the main event
