Yeah that afc Camden said there was a blowup at half time yesterday and they will go on a 10 game run. He also says we want Kane and he wants to be here. Also mentioned we want Reus over the summer. Honestly he's a good player but just missing that link in mf right now. I think Giroud/Sanchez is as good a duo as any other in the Prem.
Arseblog made a great point recently about the hole in our midfield without Santi - how many players are actually out there with his particular skillset? Not sure he is replaceable, which means we've got to figure something else out.
I feel like Ramsey does a good job of adjusting his position to Mesut's roaming but he's just been out of form. Really sucks Xhaka-Ramsey hasn't been as good as it seems on paper.
There are tons of players with that skill set. Wenger made a career out of converting CAMs deep. Problem is who would slide back there?
-----Alexis----- --Özil---Iwobi-- Ox--Xhaka--Ramsey Or really go nuts: --Giroud--Alexis-- -Ox---Özil--Iwobi- --Xhaka--Ramsey- Koz-Mustafi-Gabriel Cause why not
-------- Giroud----Alexis--------- Ox---Iwobi--Ozil--Ramsey--Theo --------------Xhaka---------------- ------------------------------Hector ----------------Kos----------------- --------------- Cech---------------
reasoning: this year coq has been better in terms of positional discipline and helping xhaka, and the midfield, move the ball from def to att while ramsey has either bombed forward too soon or taken wayyy too long to make a decision stalling our ball movement. seems to me coq tries play quicker when we play it out of the back. also, ramsey hasn't connected well with xhaka at all. once we're in the attacking third ramsey is who i'd want there, sure, but when we are trying to build and maintain possession in the other two thirds of the field, to get into the final third, i think coq has been better. not that coq has been great or anything. just think it's more of an indictment on ramsey's play this year.
I get what you're saying but they are too opposite to compare IMO. Coq has zero creativity with the ball but his positional discipline is fantastic. Ramsey is creative on the ball when he doesn't take 3 too many touches, with horrible positional discipline when playing as a mid. Bottom line is neither solve the current dilemma of dealing with a high press. I really think Aaron is creative enough but not decisive enough where Coq just flat out isn't creative at all. So where Coq might seem more efficient, he's not, he just knows his limitations and makes the easy pass. Ramsey fails consistently because he's trying to make up for that, coupled with string bean hammys. That's my 2 pence, only half a glass deep. I'll shut up now.
Ramsey has been off the pace & not playing to his potential. That said... I also feel he's one of our players asked to do more. Create, press & defend. He's box-2-box & covers more ground than anyone. He hasn't been perfect, but feel he's been necessary. Embed though he hasn't been his best, what he does has been taken for granted
It's really not that crazy, Ramsey needs to get his shit together fast or he's gonna be on Everton soon.
they've played together twice I think. at home against a side that is going to concede possession give them another chance to play together. we know what Coq-Ramsey and Coq-Xhaka give us. with Santi not coming back any time soon we need to find a combination that works.
Amazing since the beginning of December. The whole defense has changed since Rudiger came back and they went 3 at the back. Fazio is a rock in the middle, while Manolas and Rudiger are great athletic outside CBs. Those 4 are collecting clean sheet after clean sheet right now.
Read that Juventus offered 65m plus Pjanic for Sanchez. English press so probably not true. Thoughts?
I don't think he is going to sign so I wouldn't mind a similar return to that. not sure how Pjanic would fit in at Arsenal though assuming Ozil is still here.
Cech keeps getting worse and Ospina isn't the answer, would love Szcz back assuming he's improved on his kamikaze ways.
I don't think Cech is getting worse. Older maybe but he certainly doesn't give up shit goals as consistently as other keepers we've had.
