Struggled for a while trying to find a good counter to halbs. Finally tried scorpions today. My god. They just melt massed infantry.

 

Yep. Scorps are so good. Archers are really good too if you have the gold.

 

In Apartment Cup Bo11 maybe he lost 6-4 to Viper I think.

 

Update: this is not a great strategy against Goths.

I can play in a few hours

about to clean up and organize so I can start setting up a home office space

 

I finally found a unit combo that I can beat the moderate ai with: scorpions, pikemen and conquistadors

I kept going for cavalry and the ai micros me to death with pikemen.

 

Conqs are a great unit but expensive. They’re tough to sustain in long games. Supplement with Bombard Cannons too.

I used to love the civ games until I discovered eu4. aoe scratches a completely different itch

 

I personally do but I enjoy Civ as well

aoe is definitely more conducive for online/custom games imo

is there a version of AoE II you can play on Mac? I downloaded the "definitive edition" on Steam but it is windows only it seems
