Why didn’t the Defendants testify at a preliminary hearing? You’re joking right?
Idk what kind of hearing it was but it seems like the defense didn't really call witnesses or present a defense.
I just remember from the initial reports they told police they shot bc they got shot at
A preliminary hearing is just a probable cause hearing. Defense attorneys use it for discovery purposes. You don’t put on a defense.
He's very serious. His username is esq
This changes nothing about Miller and he should have still been suspended. His involvement in the incident is still the same it was before this article was posted.
back to riding them Bama nuts I see. Have some self respect man.
We’ll, I am a serious lawyer, so..
Doesn’t change that I would assume it would be an part of the statements read if it was said to investigators. Maybe they said it or it’s been in a statement and Ryan didn’t put it in his article?
I’m not trying to make a judgement on who did what, but this article seemed extremely homer. And if he missed that, then also not thorough.
Where i’m going is that you still feel the need the exaggerate about it. post the quote where he’s “talking up sticking to facts relevant to the case”. you can’t, because he doesn’t do that. mentioning basketball stats doesn’t run counter to anything he’s written before that.
it’s not all strictly relevant, but they are all objective facts. and i don’t think mentioning true but not totally relevant facts about the night and people makes the author’s reporting on evidence you haven’t seen unreliable.
Posting the first media/public review of the murder footage seems rather important to the thread
the article says that their statements haven’t been released, short of whatever bits were shared during that hearing. and i’m guessing those bits are in a transcript that you haven’t read. again, you just can’t engage with the article at face value.
When the article was posted I went to see who he was before reading. I didn’t think a second by second progression of events would start with the score of the game the afternoon before.
I haven’t mentioned a single thing about any evidence being anything. You’re projecting that on me.
It says “arrests,” so it’s unclear whether any resulted in a conviction. Violent/nonviolent doesn’t matter. It has to be a recent felony conviction or a crime of dishonesty.
Seems odd when you’re supposed to be testifying on your girlfriends behalf.
A young black man doesn't cooperate with police
More at 11.
IDK, his g/f was murdered, yeah? Feel like his testimony is going to be kinda important
I'll let a person of color explain to you why it's not unusual for a person of color to not trust/cooperate with the police. It's not "odd" at all.
I know you speak for all cows, and I understand the angle you're coming from. But he's not a suspect, his g/f was murdered, and it's not like he's just not answering questions.....he's hiding. A bit sus especially after the 1st review of the the footage by the media has them questioning where the first muzzle flash came from
tell me you’re not a POC and that you’ve never interacted with cops without telling me.
Wouldn’t you want justice for your gf? I mean he hasn’t been fingered as a suspect. Heck Miller, and Bradley both young black men have cooperated, so I don’t really understand that logic.
Again, there's a difference between straight up hiding and vanished & interacting with the police. I completely understand the distrust in the system/police.
If your wife/gf got murdered, could you/would you be able to straight us disappear for 2 months?
I swear some people go out of there way to score an internet point and make themselves look really dumb in the process. Just completely oblivious to how the world works outside of their little bubble.
"JUST COMPLY WITH THE POLICE IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE" said the middle aged white man
lmao this extremely obtuse and hilarious
He's not being asked to comply with the police. HTH
I’m not going to argue you with you. But, the fact that you two have labeled his behavior “sus” while I understand why he might not want to go talk to the cops explains that we are looking at this from different perspectives and won’t agree. So let’s just move on.
Can we agree that talking to the cops as a suspect, and testifying on Jameas behalf are different?
Police, DA, it's all the same crooked shit to certain demographics. You clearly don't grasp that.
He's already talked to the police one time though. He spoke with them the night of incident and made a statement. He's already cooperated.
He's the sole person that made a statement on motive. The other passengers in the care didn't corroborate him on the stand. If doesn't testify the people who killed his girlfriend and child's mother have a much stronger case
I clearly grasp it, you're just too stupid to know the difference. Again, he already cooperated with the police and gave a detailed statement. Now he's vanished. He's already cooperated
for you yes. for me it’s not that simple. So I understand why he might not want to and for me him not wanting isn’t “sus” it doesn’t raise a red flag. All I’m saying is automatically assuming he has something to hide illustrates why he might not want to go talk to the cops.
He's not cooperating because he's likely going to end up getting indicted. If the prosecution's case wasn't hinged entirely on his biased testimony, he would have already been indicted. It's laughable to claim that he's not cooperating because he's a POC and traumatized by institutionalized police violence/persecution. He was culpable in the death of his child's mother and he knows it.
I’m not arguing with you. You’ve made up your mind. I’m simply saying I get why he might not want to continue to cooperate and it’s not “sus” to me.
White guys telling on themselves like always.
I mean yall literally just made that up out of thin air. And then act offended when you get called out on it.
Darius Miles' mom is a long time cop who claimed to have instilled in him that you can trust the police. That's why he seemingly cooperated once he knew there was video, of course after first denying knowing what happened. I do not believe he had a lawyer present when he was questioned, but I could be wrong on that. Instead, he decided to cooperate as his mom told him to do growing up. Does he get the same consideration that cooperating with the police as a POC wasn't actually beneficial for him? Or does that only apply when a POC chooses to actually not cooperate?
All I’ll say is this, imagine if Miller was ducking a subpoena. Why isn’t Miller extended the same courtesy of being a person of color and cooperating, when we prop up this other guy with excuses by saying he’s a person of color and they typically don’t want anything to do with the cops.
I gave an opinion. I really don’t care if you guys agree. You have a completely different perspective and that’s why you disagree. You’re not calling me out on anything.
This entire situation has been pretty fucking gross, tbh. So many people talking in absolutes like they know exactly what happened and who will be charged and who shouldn't be changed all bc they root for or against a team. Like fuck people, it's sports. It's not that big of a deal. People posting passive aggressive questions they think are cute. A woman died. A young child no longer has his mother. This being nothing but something to argue on the internet over is fucking gross. Some people have shown themselves to just be shitty people. No other way to say it. If your entire world persona is based on college sports, you need to take a long look in the mirrow..
And maybe I'm getting old but reading shit like this is just gross to me now:
Both sides have a point but it’s disingenuous to act like the boyfriend is in the same situation as the players, he will not have access to a high powered lawyer
I haven't made up any part of my mind.
He's reversed his course from fully cooperating to not and gone to the point of can't even be found. That doesn't mean he's guilty of anything or any wrong doing. Its an abrupt change of course when the other passenger testified when asked.
He's not being interrogated. He's providing motive against the ppl who killed his child's mom.
Would you not testify against someone who murdered your girlfriend or wife in front of you?
That's a bad take
Do you ask this when it’s a white person? If one white person does something do you assume every white person is going to do the same thing?
Not sure I'd go that far.
You really just don't get it smh.
Just meaning from the point that Miller doesn’t get consideration.
The footage apparently shows muzzle flashes emanating from inside the vehicle first. Discharging the weapon at Davis was a felony. And Jamea Harris was killed when Davis fired back. Cedric Johnson could and should be charged with felony murder.
Bitch fuck you on repeat
You're literally on a message board posting your takes on the situation in absolutes. This is hypocrisy.
