20 years ago I went to grand Bahama and there was a restaurant on the marina where they feed sharks throughout the day. They rang a bell, shined a spotlight I’ on the water and there were dozens of 6-10 foot sharks there to eat the fish carcasses they were flinging off the deck. it would not surprise me if boats did this too and animals were conditioned to follow the boats hoping for a snack
If you were in that situation (and sober) do you think you could have safely gotten out of the water?
This is what I think lends a little credence to the shark attack theory. The floatie is relatively close, but he swims the other direction like he’s seen something.
I still remember that video from the 90s of the girl getting her leg ripped off by a great white. It was the screams and lack of gore that made it especially unsettling. You could clearly see the shark approaching and then everyone tries getting her attention. Pretty sure she was on a research vessel or something.
Depends how close they were to the shore. If it was near port then I think sober, and with the adrenaline of my life being on the line, I could swim a pretty good distance to safety. The “shark” at :03 just looked like water breaking off the boat hull. Biship is right with what he said about boats conditioning sharks. That does happen. But there’s no way it would be that immediate to happen in that video. I’m guessing it was a combo of being drunk, cold af, panicking, and swallowing some water while screaming for help. He slowly started drowning. It’s possible sharks came later. But no way in that video.
Drunk dude + water. There you go. That's the death. I don't exactly understand all the physiologic reasons why, but drunk people drown sooooooooo much easier. Like every drowning death that came through the medical examiner's office was drunk
Yeah even if there was a shark there I’d think they’d want to figure out what fell into the water and not gobble it up within 15 seconds
Do we have a people falling off of ships thread? https://abcnews.go.com/US/man-missing-after-falling-overboard-carnival-cruise-ship/story?id=99695719
this is like the shark attack version of dumbass people that try to solve a murder on Twitter based on 2 min clips that got out in the public
I just watched it bite him, you can see it pretty clearly in my opinion, holy smokes, I totally missed it the first time but I slowly scrolled through it and I could see the whole thing actually I watched it again and I think it’s just splashing
I didn't reply right away because I thought maybe it was a Jaws 3 reference, but I then I remembered that the movie is set at SeaWorld Orlando.
Big part of it. Drunk body shunts blood peripherally, so you can drop your core body temperature rapidly with any exposure
You have a fear that you are dump enough to hang off the side of a train that is going mach 2? That is a weird phobia.
