Well, he was moving so that was a good sign. Then they did literally nothing when the truck pulled forward so I am thinking not great.
Is that the highway for blind people? what made them unable to see in front? Or was there some ice on the road?
I think this is from Fort Worth this morning, they had some sleet and I'm thinking it's possible the roads went from wet to ice on a bridge and people went from driving normally to no control. At least 5 were killed, as of now.
Pile ups scare the shit out of me for being so helpless. I remember the one on I-70 between KC and STL and that was enough anxiety for me for awhile.
I'm pretty sure your best bet is to stay in your car. Seems dumb, but getting out can be extremely risky for a lot of reasons.
Stay in until you have a window where you feel 100% safe escaping. I’d rather react to situations than be helpless in a car. No way I’m staying put as an 18 wheeler barrels down with no chance of stopping.
that’s what I heard but say that to the guy that stayed in his car when the big one came in. I could not just stay there
Ice. You can see at 2:03 a truck going in completely backwards at a decent clip. You can also see the car next to the one recording continuously spin it’s tires. Guessing the roads were fine with the exception of that patch. People got comfortable driving after a bit and speeds started increasing.
It’s all chance and risk. Imagine getting out of your car to get away and slipping on ice. Now you’re on your hands and knees trying to gain traction as vehicles are still coming at you.
Wife knew three people in that pileup that work with her at the hospital. Two got out of their cars and are fine and the one who stayed in their car is in really bad shape at the hospital. But at the same time a guy in Dallas died today after getting out of his vehicle in a similar but much smaller scale accident. Seems like it’s all just luck of the draw.
But it was perfect visibility out, if you were paying attention you’d have at least a quarter mile (depending on if it was a straight section or a curve) to slow down. (was towing a 12000 lb trailer today on icy roads)
my palms are sweaty. Considering the theme of this thread, I was waiting for the music to stop and the bass drop.
Is there any other species that fucks around with dying as much as humans just for the sake of fucking around with dying? I am trying to think of one and considering I can’t, I would say no and it isn’t even close.
Pandas have been trying to dumbass their way into extinction for a century and we keep not letting them
But honestly you are right, mountain goats do this for protection because they are a sitting duck(goat lol) in their environment unless they climb. humans do it just for the fuck of it
That's the thing about deers. Any deer that gets caught by a predator dies as a result. Because of that, every deer thinks it's the fastest thing in the world. So of course it thinks it can outrun your Honda.
I feel like squirrels have a crazy game with each other to see who can run in front of my car to reach the other side of the road only to turn around and run back to the other side so I have to dodge them.
