I’m glad somebody found that. Looked for it last night and couldn’t find the clip. Pretty much a microcosm of the game as a whole.
Also, we are something like -60 in ACC play in terms of opponent FTs taken versus our FTs taken. Some of that is style of play, but that’s a massive gap in only 6 games. That and some awful turnover games is making us being 3-3 kind of remarkable.

A more interesting stat analysis would include foul numbers with possessions/game numbers. UVA is the slowest team in the nation by 1.5 possessions, which is a lot over 353 teams. UNC by comparison is a top 10 tempo team, averages 16 more possessions per game than UVA, yet only has 15 more fouls called against them. But I’m a cop and thus suck at math so someone smart would have to do that comparison.
The basic formula for possessions is that a possession ends on a TO, made basket, or d-rebound. There's also a smaller portion that takes into account free throws that is a little more complicated. I'm sure you could drill more down into it but I don't know that fouls correlate much if at all with possessions - The game is the same length for every team and I don't think more possessions = more fouls or vice versa. I also suck at math though.

We only have 7 scholarship players right now, so our D is not physical at all right now just so we can avoid foul trouble. On a related note, this is easily our worst defensive team since 2007.
