I had no idea who he was until opening this thread. IDK what that says about me. I’m not going to pretend to understand the hate for women so many have. My biggest inspiration and influence as a human being is my mother. She has made me the person I am. I have 3 daughters. I am constantly surrounded by women I love and would do anything for. I don’t know if it really is the inability to find a loving relationship or just not being able to find a sexual relationship that drives these men insane. I also can’t relate to that. A lot of men have skated by historically IMO. To leave their father's house and / or put food on the table, women had to marry which lowered the bar for men pretty significantly. Essentially you just had to be able to go to work and you could find a woman to marry you even if you're horrible. Not like that now, women don't need men at nearly the same rate and you have to actually treat them well / have a personality / take care of yourself physically / have a decent income, or have a combination of all four. To your point, the incels just haven't accepted that they're not as needed for their provider status and it is driving them insane

iirc it was based on a study some researcher did of wolves in captivity. he found later that wolves in the wild behave entirely differently and didn't conform to the 'alpha/beta' patterns he sketched out in his book. pack leadership is based on breeding, not which wolf is strongest/most aggressive/drinks the most rockstar or whatever. don't think he ever intended the original results to be generalizable across species anyway i'm skeptical that much of this is really new, including 'incels.' the platforms and communities they have access to are new. but you can pick a time and place in history and you'll more than likely find a 'crisis in masculinity' was taking place once you start digging into the research
