Im all in on this. I remember all these names as a kid, but didnt really grasp what was going on. When I first heard of this I assumed it was just a crappy made for TV movie/mini series. All the critics are raving about it. First ep was great.
That was great. Only thing that annoyed me was how hard they tried to name drop the Kardashian girls. They're seriously trying to tell us that Courtney and Chloe were really running in the church 5 minutes prior to Nicole Brown Simpson's funeral just so they can shoehorn in an appearance?
or that OJ almost shot himself in Kim's room? TBH it didnt bother me at all and it's kind of nit-picky
No chance Kim had white dudes on her wall growing up. Also, thought this transcript from the Bronco chase was good: http://www.cnn.com/US/9611/27/simpson.chase/
And the Kardashian kids will be in about 10% of the show according to the creator. An underlying theme of the show will be that this trial helped create our current celebrity culture (where people are famous for being famous). So the Kardashians will be showing up again. Now you know
I fucking hate the TV board. Probably wouldn't have missed the first episode if this shit was on the front fucking page.
This is what I thought too. It was just a way to let people know the relationship between Kris and Rob. At least I hope that was it.
I thought the best cast role in episode 1 was Cochran. Interested to see how this plays out. At minimum, its a great story to retell. I was only 10 when it happened so the details are fuzzy. Also didnt have my JD back then...so the trial this time around should have more layers for me.
I take it back. The Kardashian kids and the chanting was forced as fuck and terrible. Still, it was all of 20 seconds, so no biggie. This show is good.
I was 8 and pissed they weren't showing Rockets/Knicks, it's nice to watch this and better understand how crazy this all really was. Had no idea that the Bronco in the chase was his boy's
Travolta's portrayal doesn't remind me of Shapiro at all. It is super cheesily acted. No one else thinks so? It's like he's playing a goofy bloated version of himself Cuba is annoying too. But the show is not terrible like I thought it would be
Love the show so far. Last nights episode made me want to travel to LA, find the Kardashians and throat punch them to death.
He was a lot better in episode 2. I just don't think OJ when i see him though. They should/could have gotten an actor with better acting skills than relying on a name. Same thing with travolta.
The Kardashian thing is explained by critics who have seen most the series, they just explain that the whole show, besides documenting the OJ trial, is to help explain the rise of modern "celeb" culture with 24 hour news channels and why the whole Kardashian crew became what they are now. If you get close enough to a big enough celebrity or news story, you also become a celebrity, etc.
OJ definitely has CTE but its been great so far. for someone that was only 5-6 when it actually happened, its been refreshing to see. Also it seems like the prosecutors are all so fucking retarded. They should show this at the beginning of law school on how to fuck up a case.
