Looks like it takes some inspiration from it at least. Not sure it will go with the same plot twist though. Definitely seems like a murder mystery.
I think it's a current time in a parallel universe. That scene where he saves someone from that charging truck was definitely a current truck. Its not connected to Afflecks universe the was Joker wasnt.
I watched the trailer and had absolutely zero interest in the move. Then I read the following and I’m fully onboard: John Torturro as Carmine Falcone
Pattinson's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman attempting to get to know each other in a more "world's finest" way rather than an insane trying to kill each other way would be really nice. That's what they should've done in the first place anyways God that Batman v Superman movie sucked so much
Sign signs of a poorly run company...... They literally could've gone down the fucking hall to the DCAU for scripts if they really wanted to and didn't. Hell the first two seasons of Arrow is still some of the best television DC has ever done and better than damn near anything produced out of the DCCU
Wasn’t it more on the higher ups that screwed up Batman vs Superman and not Snyder? I say this certainly not in defense of Snyder’s work as I’m not a fan but I thought it was known the big wigs meddled in that hence this Snyder cut coming out
It was definitely at least partly Snyder. I don't think there was much interference on BvS and that was complete garbage. I am way more excited than I should be for a movie that is still over a year away.
https://tvline.com/2020/08/23/the-batman-hbo-max-spinoff-series-year-one-prequel/ Didn’t hear about this yesterday. Great concept having Batman in the background and setting it in his first year as his legend starts to build. That’s definitely when the Gotham PD would have been the most corrupt. Show also has a great team behind it.
From all accounts, Snyder had carte blanche on Man of Steel and BvS. I won’t deny his eye for visuals but his storytelling and creative direction is terrible.
Think this pretty much sums up Snyder accurately DC has to be thanking their lucky stars Gunn fell in their laps
Snyder definitely needs a quality writer to keep him in check. Chris Terrio has gone a long way based solely on Argo and riding Affleck’s coattails. Writing DC and SW franchises into a ditch is quite the accomplishment. bit of trivia: Snyder’s Dawn of The Dead was written by James Gunn
Snyder’s best work is when he lifts stories and visuals from source materials. Watchman, 300, Dawn of the Dead (where he completely missed the theme and time of the original).
Really like the theory Riddler is leading Batman down the rabbit hole toward the true corruption in Gotham, and making him earn it through clues and puzzles. Obviously he’s serial murdering to do it, but it adds an extra layer to his motivations, and explains a lot of the dialogue we heard in the background of the trailer. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if Bruce has to eventually deal with the revelation his family was involved, and/or we see the Court of Owls at least being hinted at in the background.
Think they have to do the Court of Owls eventually with how hyped everyone is for them to be in the new video game
I watched like four years ago enjoyed it enough. I don’t think I enjoy the cartoons as much as some in here do. Gods and Monsters and Gotham by Gaslight are probably the two I enjoyed the most
I'm usually not a big fan either. Some are good but they make some stupid changes a lot of times. Like Killing Joke for instance.
They have his character listed as Edward Nashton on IMBd. Could be they changed it for the film or it's just a misdirect of some kind.
Everything about it looks great. Reeves said the penguin, riddler, and cat woman are essentially where Batman is in their tenures - starting out. Makes me wonder - Spoiler None of them die in this film.
Good point. Reminds me of having my mind absolutely blown in the opening of The Dark Knight when the villain (Scarecrow) from the first film shows up. Not only does he show up in a rather belittling situation, but it’s not even in the third act of the film. I had never seen that before. Not saying other films hadn’t done it, but it was incredible.
I heard Affleck's version was going to be based on "A Serious House On Serious Earth," which is the storyline that the original Arkham game was based on
