The movie seemed to strongly hint at it though…seemingly combining his background or at least setting the stage for Hush.

I didn't pick up on that if they did. I thought Riddler explained pretty clearly he was already an orphan before Thomas ran for office and he was there the day Thomas announced he was running for office.

They put Hush right out in front with him being an Elliot and saying the word Hush and putting it on the screen.

Movie was awesome. The sound and music were particularly good. Loved the image of Batman approaching penguin in the overturned car :ohgosh:

The sound, music, and cinematography were all top notch. Even if you don't like the story you have to give it credit for that.

We can stop using spoilers after a week right?

I could watch the scene where the cops descend on the diner and cuff riddler 30 times. Done so artfully. Every shot was money in that scene

    Mixed thoughts about the film:

    Strong performances
    Slow pace
    Not enough Dano
At least 30 mins too long

And I actually sat through the whole Shapiro review and you know what? Hard to disagree with a lot of what he says.

Movie was good, certainly not great. And a fair way behind the Nolan films for me.

    liked it a lot

there was some silly shit. the explosion to the face. the batsuit made of mithril. the crash test dummy landing with the wingsuit. but it's a superhero movie so who really gives a shit about any of that

thought dano was brilliant. and i think this film provides a much more thoughtful treatment of some of batman's more fascist qualities. the incel brigade flipping the 'i am vengeance' line at the end of the film was a really nice touch.

This is how I feel. 7 or 8.

I really liked Pattinson as an actor, but it was a little too dark and broody.

    Score and cinematography was awesome.

  25. Just got around to seeing this. Pretty much exactly what I'd want out of a Batman movie, loved it and seeing that most of the negativity surrounding the film comes from some really bad posters and Ben Shapiro just helped to reinforce my positive opinion

I went back and watched No Way Home the other day and I just didn't enjoy it as much after watching the Batman. It set a new bar for comic book films and maybe just films in general. Amazing cinematography, sound, and music.

Loved that scene. Excited to see what they do with this version of the joker. I’m sure they cut the scene as they wanted the movie to be about the riddler. Any joker in that movie other than what was in it would have taken away from the riddler.

this was my exactly my text to cdaysker when I watched it. The cinematography did as good of a job creating drama, building suspense, creating the characters as any comic book movie I’ve seen…ever.

Also, one of Joker’s first lines, ‘first anniversary is paper…’

While it might not happen (and that doesn’t have to be a good or bad thing) it kind of reinforces my idea that if they do use the joker you use him in a prequel instead of a continuation film. (Unless you go for a ‘Shitty AMC Show joke’ level of joker…)

That line alone could have given you every reason to include this (I get why they didn’t) in the film. It tells a lot while being so simplistic.
