First things first, Leida and Cyril’s mom are, in fact, the worst. second, I need that EDM robot at my next party. That shit was lit! (I immediately regret typing that)
Lack of head phones doesn’t stop several of my coworkers from putting their phone speakers at 100 so the entire floor hears the Tik Tok you are watching.
The online dorks say it’s the TIE Avenger which was a prototype never mass manufactured. It was too good/expensive/difficult to use for their typical pilots so they stripped it down to make the TIE Interceptor. My guess is they taught Cassian about the TIE Advanced thinking that’s what they were stealing but they got the crazy futuristic concept car instead. Vader’s was a custom Advanced joint built specifically for his insane reflexes.
It was. I think the point was to show how disorganized the rebellion still is 4 years out. These dorks are so disorganized without their leader that they’ll starve to death even though they’re within hiking distance of a base.
I was high watching reaction videos falling asleep last night and that guys schtick must be to troll. I only watched a few minutes before I switched but he hated all 3 episodes. “Boring” “this isn’t ‘real’ Star Wars” “nothing but dumb exposition” “there’s no point to this”. It’s just clickbait.
agree Spoiler felt like the jungle scene with the loony rebels was being juxtaposed against the organized Imperial roundtable scene re: Ghorman to demonstrate the disjointed and messy Rebellion versus the well-oiled fascist behemoth Coruscant....so that they could set that Vibe for the audience before they play out the subsequent years/chapters
oh my gosh, when the camera pulled out to show hes just like 10 feet away with giant open walls between them. So awkward.
Incorrect. Thats the TIE Advanced from the original TIE Fighter video game, later retconned to the TIE Avenger to differentiate it from the Vader TIE Advanced from ANH. Avengers have cut-outs on front and back, advanced weapons, shields, and a hyperdrive. Interceptors only have cut-outs on the front, 4x laser cannons, no shields, no hyperdrive.
Is there a reason why Leida sucks so much besides just being a shitty teen? I don't remember. I was honestly lost on most of the Mon Mothma plot in these first episodes. My fault for not finishing a rewatch beforehand. And the whole dinner scene with Syril's mom was hilarious and interesting, as was how Dedra handled it. It honestly kind of made me like her and feel bad for Syril. The bed image will be a great meme for the next few weeks. and Imperial Fredrick Zoller got what he deserved.
Probably just because I went to a pudunk mid west HS but did anyone else have the “Jesus girls” in HS clique? Not just super religious but super popular and use religion as another way to look down on others. It’s what Leida reminds me of. Every year there were like 10 or so girls that were really popular because they were pretty or good athletes or rich and they were all entitled and obnoxious with their holier than thou attitudes. Basically a Trad Wife to be group.
Cassian better not fall in love with and start banging Jyn if he still had Bix waiting at home for him.
No idea if it’s true or not but supposedly the guy who is doing the second arc confirmed it’s about Spoiler saw
the next scene after this when they’re back on the wheat planet carries over the beat in a much more dire situation and was a really cool touch
I didn’t realize that’s the 5th (or maybe 4th) version of that song that the show has used so far. Also, Niamos was the resort/beach community Casa got arrested at in season 1.
I heard someone say that there was a Thrawn Easter egg “If you know his story”. Was he in charge of the Ghormon solution? The other thing I wondered is maybe he has one of those temple statues in his personal gallery?
I did a rewatch of these episodes today, this shit is on point! I can understand (but don't agree) not liking the pacing or the non traditional sci fi scenes (. But given how the first arc of season 1 set up everything, I give Gilroy the benefit of the doubt here. All of it leading to Mon and Andor sacrificing friends, family, and their past lives for the rebellion is powerful stuff, to me. Plus this song, and the original from season 1, are fire.
this show is too good just for them to happily ever after become good guys, but i reallllly want to know where syril and her fall into the empire’s story
Even Dedra getting a spot on this final solution team is pretty minor in the grand scheme of the empire. Even if she somehow talks them out of eradicating the spider people or dies stopping it, she’s a no one considering what we know the empire does afterwards syril is just a number in the empires payroll
I don’t. They’re spending a lot of time on these two characters. There should be some sort of payoff with them at the end. the show is about the moral grey area that these people standing up to a fascist government deal with in their personal lives. What they give up, who they sacrifice, the “bad” things they do to fight back against a much larger evil Dedra and syril are minor players in the sprawling evil empire. We know what is still to come with the empire - including blowing up planets This show isn’t a happily ever show, and too good for them to end up as the good guys, but who do they become in the bad guys team?
They aren’t even just your average employee in the empires fascist government. Dedra, despite her uneasiness with the spider people plan seems like a true believer. Syril is doing what he can to help them. So I don’t think their role in the show is to show the “other side”
Banality of evil. Dedra is a careerist more so than a true believer imo. Syril is the committed fascist.
Ghorman should happen in Act 3. Pretty sure that lines up with Mon’s video from Rebels. I bet one of Dedra/Syril discovers some big info on axis and the other one convinces them to keep it secret in Act 4. Also, wasn’t Mon on the ghost when she made that speech? Are they going to retcon that? All the actors from Ashoka would need to be 15 years younger.
Maybe I missed it but I thought Dedra didn’t like her new assignment because she thinks it’s beneath her and she wants to find Axis. Why are we thinking she isn’t a true believer? She told Krennic propaganda isn’t enough for Ghorman and you need some rebels on planet to kick off a violent “revolution”.
yeah she’s all in on the empire’s boot on throats yea on ghost. My guess - we don’t see her delivering it, see if from the view of those hearing it in the show. Then the last scene of arc 3 is the ships coming out of hyper space and rendezvousing (is that how it’s spelled?) in front of the ghost. We won’t see the ghost in the show :( The last scene is a live action view that mirrors the end of this
They'll die meaningless deaths at the hands of the Empire, because that's what the Empire does Honeymoon on Scarif
This guy owns Theory Sabers, I think, that make some cool custom lightsabers. I used to follow him on Instagram and his opinions on pretty much everything suck so I had to stop following.
“You need to be protected. I’m not sure what you’re saying… How nice for you.” The look on their faces!
