Another Boeing crash

Yeah the plan is to take the wife and two kids to visit Nonna (she’s 94) one final time. Air Italy is one of the few airlines that flys one stop to Palermo. Most others are two. Can’t really deal with that with a 4 and 1 year old.

Alitalia used to do a direct flight from JFK to Palermo during peak season. But they stopped that last year. Wish someone would’ve filled that void.

My dad loves to fly Lafthunsa but I’ll check out Meridiana and see what rates are

 

Meridiana was bought out by Qatar Airways which in turn became Air Italy. The Meridiana planes were old and crappy but the Qatar fleet is very nice so you’ll enjoy Air Italy if you’re used to Alitalia. Meridiana had a direct to Palermo from JFK so that’s what I would fly prior to the buy out. While you’re there you should check out the festival in Castellammare that goes on August 19-21

Yea local news is saying it just slid off the runway while landing. The "aviation expert" said it could be bc the pilot came in too fast and that runway is on NAS Jax, a military base, and it doesnt have grooves so water doesnt run off like it should so hydroplaning isnt unusual.
